  • Othmirs and Ice Burrowers?

What on average, is the othmir's drop rate for their furs? I.e. if i cleared the whole beach (app. 15-20 othmirs) how many furs could I expect?

Also, what is the drop rate of Ice Burrower's silk? And are the Burrowers hard to find, or is there a camp of em?

    Thanks.

Ice burrowers are roamers in the Western Wastes. As long as you are on good faction with COV then 'most' things here wont attack you. The wolves will.

Big problem with burrowers is that they Proc a Dispell, as a druid i used to agro kite them with a charmed pet. If the pet got agro then most often the charm would be dispelled.

Not too hard to kill but the drop rate is uncommon.

They also have a chance at dropping a nice Monk/Bst BP, (NoDrop) so if you have an alt, park it nearby!

I have never hunted Othmir, they too cute to kill.

Othmir drop 5 furs per clearing on average. A good 65 ranger can keep all the camps cleared self-buffed. Respawn is 20 minutes for the normal othmir, 60 minutes for the named. Be careful with Chief Kalan, he can't be snared or rooted and he has pretty high magic and cold resistance.

And yes, they are too cute to kill, that's why I kill them.

I went to vist them the other day with my 48 druid. Tried to harmony them, so I could single pull. I don't know if I was too low or what, but harmony pulled them all. Well, you can guess where it went from there.

My favourite trick is to load up charm instead of harmony by mistake...

You will need fire-based nukes for the Ice Burrowers, by the way since they are highly magic-resistant as well as being natively ice-resistant.

Ice Silk tailoring isn't really the most economical thing out there... unless I missed something or you're rolling in rubies

Uses vial of purifed mana, which requires 4 rubies per. Not to mention platinum thread. If you're just interested in armor, I think there is equivelant or better armor out there for the cost to make Ice Silk armor as well!

              Good luck

Are you sure you used Harmony of Nature and not the old Harmony?

He would have gotten an error message if he had tried to use old harmony(MOB is out of level range for this spell or such. It would never have casted.)

Sometimes harmony gets resisted or wears off quickly.

5 per clearing is average for me, but I never make it to the vendor camp before repops start, so I'm not clearing as many (even with headshot, it goes slow sometimes). I try to leave the 3 named up, as they're used in some quests, but sometimes it's just fun to beat down the chief ...he does dispel at times though (so do the shamans).

Chief decided he wanted to summon me the other night...well I wasn't set up to melee fight him so I kinda took a beating before DoT's are off to fade him =/ I never remembered him summoning before...

                        From what i understand -

Harmony reduces a mobs agro radius, it does not totally stop it agroing.

If you harmony a group of mobs that assist each other and the one that you pull paths very close (or ontop of) one of Harmony mobs, it will agro.

                        But i could be wrong.

Never seen the chief summon before, hopefully that's just a bug that got fixed!
