  • Tailoring From 187+

If I didn't want to buy anything from players due to the high cost of the materials what would be the best way to get tailoring past 187?

  • #2
Do you have a Tunare imbuer, a low level enchanter (for enchanting silver) and high Jewelcrafting (ideally from an enchanter with JCM)?

Then you could do Solstice Robes. You'll need lots of spider silk, but you can farm that yourself. You'll need lots of imbued emeralds, hence the Tunare Imbuer. You'll need lots of Celestial Essence, but you can make that yourself. You will need one needle, but that's not to hard to make with moderate smithing skill. You will need a good deal of Gem studded chains, which are 50/50 propostions even at 252 JC.

So if you have a JCM3 enchanter and a tunare druid alt, you're probably in good shape. Otherwise, you may want to buy from others anyway.

With lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of farming.

You didn't mention what class you were or what level. If you're a robe wearing int caster, you can farm materials to make cultural robes. The 3rd or 4th of 6 will get you to the 230 range. Higher than those use much rarer lvl 50+ research drops that are harder to vendor mine or farm. The various recipes can be found under tailoring cultural in the recipes section on the main site.

If you don't mind slaughtering countless grimlings in acrylia caverns for acrylia and hoppers in dawnshroud for flawless hides, you can make acrylia reinforced armor. This will also take you to the 240 range. Recipes for the various pieces can be found in the tailoring section under luclin leather recipies.

If you have any tunare worshiping priest friends and know a GM jewelcrafter who will all work for charity then you can farm silk to make Ceremonia Solstice robes. Recipe is listed under the basic silk section. These will take you to 250.

Lastly, there are many velious fur and leather recipes that will take you to 250. Any of these will also require much farming of various furs/hides depending on what you're making, and velium by the boatload. For some recipes, you'll even need an enchanter to bottle some mana for you.

Ultimately, there is no cheap, easy, 90% materials off a vendor, way to max tailoring. If you can get tailoring over 200, you've already shown a lot of determination (if not a complete loss of sanity ). To take the skill to 200+ you're going to have to spend a hell of a lot of time, or a hell of a lot of money. There is no easy street from this point on.

Depends on your class/level, but if its an option I would highly recommend farming Othmir Fur Pelts. Of course, as the trivial is so high your skillup rate won't be amazing for awhile. Of course, solstice robes are even higher

been doing the wyvern masks myself. Though they are way overpriced unless you farm them. And any level 65 can farm them with ease. However its not the farming of wyverns thats hard, its them velium bits, as they require LOTS... and you have lots of competition

              Do this - http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_...r=080110230000

              Then do this - http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_...r=080110230000

Easier cheaper than any of the Tailoring route plus good skill up.

What is a good source for Hynid Mane and Muramite Etched Scales ?

I highly recommend the whips if you've got a supply of scales or can farm them. They drop off of the Muramite mobs in Natimbi (ie, not animal mobs, like turpetas and hynids)

Hynids of course, will drop the hynid manes.

You may be sitting there going "Well, heck, I've farmed all day and only have enough for 10 combines! WTF?"

Well, I made 3 skillups last night on 6 whips, so they're not exactly your average Solstice Robe skillup chance, here. Just make sure to pick the whip that closest matches your current tailoring skill to have the best chance at a skillup.

Out of curiousity, do these sell at all in the bazaar, & what would be a reasonable asking price? I am clueless when it comes to evaluating weapons' value/desirability (other than a few obvious ones, like Windblades or BoCs) most part

Buying these ingredients at bazaar prices (40 pp per hide x 2 and 80 pp per scale), I had massive losses. I couldn't move those dang whips at 10 pp each (the 202 trivial one) and my trader is up 24/7. Had a few sit on my trader for a month before I finally sold them to an NPC, tried to give them away but couldn't even finder a taker for that.

                        Hi Maevenniia,

Muramite Etched Scales and Hynid mane, I collected them when GoD started and they used to be sell alot in bazaar for like 10 PP each but I am sure when people found out they give very good skill up chance, prices will go up . I said cheaper, only if you farm them your self then cheap hehe. Like above poster said I get like 6 skill up per one stack below 200 and like 3-4 skill up per one stack over 200 skill. These lower whip don't sell at all. Steel-Laced one should be able to sell for reasonable price I guess.

Are those recipes right? Preserved Etched Muramite Scales only drop in Kod'Taz or higher zones, is the recipe supposed to be just Etched Muramite Scales?

Ah I see, nm, you need to do the quest or combine the muramite scales.

I have a lot of these saved up from the past few months of GoD, I'll make a bunch later today....

AGED Muramite Etched Scales drop in KodTaz and above. They make whips that are a little higher in skill to make, and a little more damage and less delay.

Muramite Etched Scales can drop in Natimbi, and any zone from there up to KodTaz (i.e. sewers, trials, Ferubi, Barindu, Qinimi, etc)

You then take 1 Aged or regular scale and either turn it in to the refining quest person in Abysmal Sea, or, if you've done the "Learn To Refine Things Yourself" quest for tailoring, you put the scale in your sewing kit and hit combine.

The most PRESERVED scales I've gotten out of this combine has been 3, but it varies up from 1.

Can anyone else confirm the high skillup rate on the whips from muramite etched scales? 3 skillups in 6 combines is awesome, but RNG is quirky. Could have been blind luck.

Anyone else able to ring in on this?
