  • OMG, I need pelts

This skill is hard to do.
I need pelts and silks. I found 2 good spots for silks but the pelts is killing me.

EK is not cutting it. The drop rate is just bad. Is there another zone where I can get pelts any faster or any better?

    Quality Pelts

If you're looking for plain old Bear, Cat and Wolf pelts, get yerself over to Nedaria's Landing and start skinning every critter you can catch. Decent XP in the mid-30s to low 40s, and plentiful furry critters that don't drop Ruined Pelts.

Kinda vague on what you need the pelts for... im assuming pelts + threads = leather paddings

I find Stonebrunt kitties (no not the kerrans ) very good place for pelt drops... I think in over 300 or so pelts ive ever looted from there ive seen maybe 1 or 2 ruined. Most are MQ.

        Good luck!

Hrmm, I vendor mine tons of pelts, but in my heyday I farmed in SB, AE'd everything that moved with the bard, usually had 40-100 pelts after an hour or work.

For padding, farm greyhoppers in Marus Seru.

This may be a stupid question

This may be a stupid question. At least, for your sake, I really hope it is. But I've been farming in EK recently and have been killing the lions whenever the spiders were running thin. And my drop rates seem to be approximately 1 HQ or MQ pelt for every ruined pelt. Now, in all my time there I have not seen a SINGLe LQ cat pelt, which leads me to ask...you do know about the skinning knife, right?

Like I said, stupid question, but I think (just in case) it is worth checking.

Just note that you need shadeling silk thread to make the padding from them. Spiderling silk will not work with hopper pelts, (and shadeling silk will not work with non-hopper pelts.)

Not sure why you're having trouble in EK. If you've got an AoE spell (or know somebody that does) you should be able to clean up. Of course, that assumes little or no competition.

I still get all I can use there; Spiderling Silks are the bottleneck for me (again, assuming leather padding).

Actually Shade silk threads work with LQ hopper, cat, bear and wolf pelts.

You can also often find large numbers of LQ/MQ pelts for 5pp or less each in the bazaar

Um, unless something's changed from the 5 seconds ago I looked up leather padding in the UI on my other computer, no you still cannot use shade silk threads with old world pelts. The spiderling silk threads will work for all pelts, but shade silk only work with hopper hides. If you could use that for all it would solve sooo much aggrivation for me.

I have made leather padding with low quality cat and shadeling silk thread before. Many times.

I will try it again next time I am game and make sure I *still* can do it.

If you're trying to raise tailoring (which your sig says is currently 15). You might want to try to abysmal sea freebie quest if you have GoD.
