I recently got my druid up to 187 tailoring just so I could make the bags and I had remarkably good luck at that level. I'm 6-for-7 on 8 slot backpacks and 2-for-2 on 10 slot haversacks so far, and I've made enough selling those to fund the purchase of more blue diamonds.

"How on earth did those little Halflings ever discover that Brute hides make armor that only Halflings seem to be able to wear... "

Offically, if you follow Karana, you can also be a Human or a Half Elf and still wear the armor. I am not the right class, < cleric> nor the right god < Bristlebane> but I am a halfling and can make the armor, but not wear it..

      Strange I know

Amen. I'm told they're also ground spawn, but you couldn't prove it by me. I've spent hours looking for those things and have never gotten one except from Foraging.

          Ground Spawn?

I've been in Misty this past year and I believe the ground spawn no longer exists. I never see anyone else out looking for them and they just are not there. I'm just going to park my ranger/druid duo and forage till my eyes bleed. I was at least hoping for ground spawns to supplement the foraging. A shorter refresh time to forage would be nice at least.

Amen, an AA that reduced forage reuse to 1 min would be a massive bonus.

I've NEVER foraged an acorn, all of mine were found running around blind as a bat with my bard looking for them. I've also come to the conclusion that there is no spawn cycle, no areas where they spawn more, and nothing special. I've gotten two acorns on hte ground within a few feet of each other, found them "floating" on tree trunks, along walls by goblins, and even in the room where Deppity Dawg and his crew sit and drink JumJum Spiced Beer.

            They're pretty random.

The ground spawns definately exist. There was a map with the locations listed once. If you do a search for misty acorns I'm sure you'll find the link for it.
One of the most common places I've found them is around the half walls near the hill with the tower on it (just out from the RV zone).

                Update on misty acorn spawns

Aye they do exist. Sorry I should have posted sooner. It had been awhile since I had last seen the ground spawns and it seemed as if they had vanished. I adjusted my gamma down and started using wolf form and the overhead camera view along with the 3rd camera which is rotatable. I have marked so many spots on the map that yes they do now appear to move around now unlike when Kunark first came out and they were always in the same spot. It would be nice if they were a tad more visible but then I guess everyone would be in MT. BTW Hiyas Celestya . I'll have to keep my eyes open for you since there aren't to many old school people on the Rathe anymore.

On another note tailoring is now at 187 so it's getting there bit by bit. I have about 100 Flawless rockhopper hides and acrylia boning. Should I even bother trying to farm more superb hides or hope that I get the last point to 188 doing halfling cultural or reinforced acrylia? Not thrilled with farming more superb hides since I have no more studs and one stack of acrylia bits.

I'd probably keep farming hides, but sell them and use the money on more Flawless hides or more acrylia. It was always nice to "outgrow" certain recipes since it allowed you to begin selling supplies you no longer need for skillups.

Tigeraptor, Othmir, Wyvern hide armour. At 52 the Tigeraptors shold be easy enough and give XP. Same with the Othmirs..if you dont mind blowing your faction.
Then head to CC and farm Velium for a day or two and have more then you need.

[QUOTE=acoma]Thanks again for all the replys, they are most helpful.

"I believe I will save my acorns for the haversacks and try to go the acylia studded/reinforced way. Seems like it has less ingredients overall. Also I can get the hides in the same places that I can get the acyila, dawnshroud and scarlet desert. If you all have any better places to look for the flawless and superb hides please let me know. I know that they are a RARE drop everywhere though."

The grimlings in Tenebrous mts. also drop decent amounts of Acrylia for your needs. Your lvl 52 ranger should be ok in there, they'll be green to him. If you get some more lvl's under your belt I'd suggest hitting Acrylia caverns, they drop a pretty good amount of acrylia but the grimlings in there can be quite nasty at times. Good for lvl 60'ish exp.
