  • LOY Ribbons In Abysmal?

I was making plans to hop my young tailor alt over to Gunthak this evening - beg a sow, invis and a port, then hope invis doesn't drop, repeat if it does. Then I remembered noticing that the Abysmal Sea tradeskill vendors seemed to have all available items from throughout Norrath the last time I was there.

I checked the database and it shows the ribbons are only available in Gunthak. Does anyone know if this is still true? Or do the Abysmal Sea vendors perhaps stock ribbons too?

Abysmal would be a much easier trip for a Level 8.

SOE already figured that one out - no-one can get to abysmal until they have reached level 15 and have gotten thier adventure stone.

Tried to take my ranger to AS at level 5 myself and every time I tried to use the zone from jagged pine into nedaria's landing I was dumped right back to Surefall Glade. I only managed to get him there after he had his stone.

So, unforunately even if they do sell ribbons in AS it wouldn't be much help to your level 8. Sorry.

From memory I can't remember seeing any on the tailoring merchants. The ribbons in Gunthak are on Geerlok in the lighthouse, so long as your level 8 has invis and runs like Forest Gump then the trip to the lighthouse is not really that difficult. Your really don't need to bother with a port, the run through the warrens is oK so long as you have SoW and don't get lost. Plus the advantage of being level 8 is that you won't have anything to lose other than your time if your invis does drop and you get snuffed by the kobolds.

After level 10 you can use the fact that there is a bank in the lighthouse and do the run naked if you don't fancy a corpse run to get your kit back if things go wrong.

I have to say, I hope those ribbons are not in AS. I think it is sad they are consolidating the game so much. It was a bit of a pain to go to various places to do tradeskills, but it certainly added to the RPG aspect of the game. It is a bit discouraging to see things like Jumjum outside of Rivervale (and I guess SH has them too...)

I haven't been able to find any LoY ribbons on Abysmal vendors. There are only 2 listed tailoring merchants in AS and neither of them has them. I was hoping to avoid the trip to Gunthak, if anyone has found them, but it looks like I'm going to have to make the journey.

Each expansion has had something special about it. As each one has come out they've tried to make sure you have to buy it to benefit from it.
Loy ribbons and tinkered components probably won't be available in another expansion's zone. The items are no drop so you'll pay.

It would make roleplaying sense that you would find a nice consolidated list of stuff on the boat,...they are packing to leave after all. But from what i've seen no ribbions. Yes they want you to have the LoY expansion but usually you can avoid that by checking the bazaar.
