Some notes on above.

Guess the first thing to notice is that tailoring really doesnt start until skill 159 or so. After that, its gonna be brutal.

Celestial robes are a good cost effective method of getting to 210, then ethereal swatches to 212. But after that, 213-219 was brutal, 33% success rate. According to other sources, after 220, its 25% success rate, so you have been warned.

It took me 6months to finish tailoring (and thus finish Aid Grimel) and I collected all my own materials, with a bit of help along they way. (you need friends to get the holy water in PoN, and Saps in PoF, etc)

So how much to get to skill (219)?

~147 STACKS of tunare swatches used.
@ 15p per swatch ... 44100pp in emeralds alone. (yah its ALOT of imbueing... tip: imbue where you can forage! )

50/80 chains made (with JC3 enchanter) and used. 21600pp in chains.

And of course, the collecting of no less than 294 stacks of silk.

Has VI or Sony actually ever looked at that number and thought about it? I didnt realize it during those 6 months, but it would appear I spent no less than 150 HOURS in EK collecting silk. And of course this is the fastest route to tailoring. (and this only gets me to 219 tailoring!)

I did get a chance to use the new UI from 219 to 224 tho... and i like it!

However, despite the long stretches without a skillup, I did average slightly better than 1 in 20 skillups... and I was VERy lucky in NOT succeeding on robes.

Despite the hardships at skill 183 or so, I couldnt be more satisfied with my hard work, and my new earring.

how did you get your int so high? and what do you think would be the skill up for someone with an int of 100? Also at lvl 24 are there any buffs i can ask for to bring int up for more successes?

go to baz,

Put in your class and race, search on Int, and pick a slot.

It will list all the items you can use and their int values.

I think chanters are the only class that can cast an int buff on you. Is it called Brilliance or something like that.

You realise that int or wis works the same, just get one of those as high as you can.

Plenty of wis equipment out there.

solstice robes can be a pain if you're lucky like me... I burned through gem studded chains faster sub 200 then anyone post 220...

Ofcourse, I have yet to fail an important combine, so it has it's merits

But I preferred plugging away with acrylia reinforced for now... until I get Shei's akhevan shadow shears...

Int gear... hrm...

First, I made myself some tasty INT food and drink. (misty picnics, quenos tea)

Then, I spent 10k in the Bazaar on INT gear. I did my homework on this and bought stuff that was high INT with low cost. I actually bought 14 peices of gear, so my cost per item was about 700p.

Then, I started collecting INT augs from LDON, luckily they are very common.

I recommend C5/C3 for a nice boost.

Noticed someone said it took them 1000 or so combines to get 250 tailoring.

Well according to my log here, which only includes skill56-224, I have already done

1480 combines

And I had a favorible skillup ratio imo. (I can compare it to all my other tradeskilling efforts, and I had good luck in tailoring)
