  • Tufts of Dire Wolf Fur

If i only knew I should have kept these things
Anyway, has any found one particular zone to be better than another for foraging these things? I got a full stack of Dragon eggs before I got 5 tufts in WW grrrrrr. Thanks.

Thurgardin is the best zone for these because its forage table is fairly limited.

Kael is by far the best zone to forage in for tufts.

      my ranking atm:
      1) Kael
      2) Thurg
      3) EW
      4) WW
      5) ToV

I spent the first couple weeks foraging tufts in thurg while vendor mining for various stuff. Until I realized that Kael is just a better zone for foraging them. So I started piggybacking kael raids for something to do while foraging.

I foraged 3 tufts out of 4 or 5 forages in Crystal Caverns about 2 weeks ago. I probably would have had more, but I had the geo cave to myself and kept forgetting to hit the button.

Tufts of dire wolf fur in ToV?

My foraging mule has foraged literally thousands of times in ToV (for eggs), and never once foraged a tuft of dire wolf fur.

I don't think they are on the forage table there.

They're foragable in ToV. A guildmate has had a +CoV druid camped in ToV for months to check for spawns, and he saves all the tufts he forages there.

They're used for leatherfoot haversacks. 36 tufts per bag: Vale cultural tailoring page.

Explains how I missed it .. being one of the poor disowned halfelves.

My question on this is what level can you start foraging the tufts at. At 100 forage I have yet to see one and I have even tried with my iksar vendor mule and have yet to see any

You might try foraging in Kael as well... I had a few of them show up there one night and a helf elf ranger friend of mine was able to get about 2 stacks worth over the course of a 3 hour raid.

                        Kael

I probably should try thug, but I forage these in Kael.
In about 5 hours of constant foraging I can get about 40 tufts (enough to reliably make one bag.)

I did not notice a difference in the rate after going to 220 forage with the foraging sword (max skill normally 200.)

                          Best for Tufts - Kael

I would have to agree that Kael is the best out of all the places I've foraged tufts. No exact numbers, since I do it out of habit now, (pressing that forage hotkey), but I defintely noticed a significant increase in chances for the tufts in Kael zone.

                            "They're foragable in ToV."

Well, since it's second hand info (your friends mule), I'm gonna have to disagree. That, or the foraging table differs between servers. They definitely are NOT on the foraging table in ToV on 7th Hammer.

I have also gotten them in Iceclad. They should drop in Great Divide, since there are dire wolves there, but that foraging table is messed up (the only "ice" zone in Velious where you can forage Old World items in addition to the normal Velious stuff).

I forage about 1 every hour in Western Wastes with 200+10% foraging skill. I'm in the habit of doing most of my tradeskilling in Thurgadin (being ally faction and getting best prices also helps). Got enough for a haversack while getting my brewing from 170-ish to 200.

BTW, in Thurgadin, they are the only thing foraged that looks like a bag when dropped. My enchanter gets some by "High Efl Foraging" (picking up bags on the ground).
