Looking to make ribbons for Tailoring Skillups, but dont know what the easiest dye component to get is. A few friends said to kill Kobolds in Stonebrunt to get Steamfont Spring Water, but after clearing the camp 3 times, I had no drops. Any other suggestions? Best forage rates, etc.

I'm looking into this myself. My memory tells me that steamfont spring water was the easiest thing to forage in SF...
I'll let you know if I conclude anything.Tailoring - 250 (Zillia 225)

Depends on what you can do. I stack my bard up with 100+ poinst of DS and as much regen as I can, and aggro every drolvarg I can find in FV and let them die via AE dots and DS. I can round up a stack of lichenclover every hour if I have a person there to spot heal me occasionally (I did it with 62 druid 2 boxing, so it was a matter of DS and regens up, grab 30 mobs, let them get to 50% of DS and AE dot and drop a few pbAE's with druid for dead dogs.)
If you know some friends who arent too busy, say 2 druids/clerics a chanter and a bard, you can ae group every moving thing in hte zone and easily grab a stack an hour.
Incidently, if I run around melee or chanting them, the best I did was 9 per hour, with 4-6 being more average.
I found that the easiest thing was the druid bard combo in FV, and every 5 min I ported to SF and killed all kobolds then gated back to spot in FV.
Oh and don't forget the druid and bard forage will also net 2-4 dye components per hour if you're lucky.

As much as I hate to suggest this forrage in Lesser FD. Do this for 2 reasons, 1 Sylvan Berries and 2 morning dew. (This is why I hate to suggest it) The Morning Dew is a bane to all High Elven Smith's in Norath and most folks will pay for it rather than camp greens for the 1 in 100 chance that it will drop. I have set my druid at the SF zone line while my other account is on a raid (About 3 hours) foraging every time the button poped and got about 1 stack of the Sylvan Berries and 5 morning dew. On Tunare average price for MD is 25pp... But I have never sold it.

Perhaps i misread your post, but how do you set it so you forage every time the button pops?

Yeah I just Press the Button Again... You could try setting up fancy Hot Keys or possibly read the EULA closely and do Attended Macro'ing Via a 3rd Party utility but As my main is a Tank and I swing a 2hs I simply watch both accounts while raiding and MASH the forage button over and over and over... Heck it has made it so that I do not have to buy food all that often for my other Characters and Provides me with Brewing and Baking Fodder as well.Sir Cavel Cade

Giant Fort in FM
Steamfont is a good option (PBAoE or melee) with high forage rates to boot.
However, my recollection is that FM has much better drop rates of Lichenclover than did the Kobolds. The downside is that they take longer to kill but they also drop decent vendor loot from time to time.

I'm an Iksar.
I found Honey Berry to be ridiculously plentiful on my server. (Ayonae Ro). Dreadlands is still highly populated here. I'd zone in, shout I was paying 10pp a honey berry maybe once an hour. And leave with at least 30 every time. I think I amassed over 1000 in a weeks time. I'm still giving away stacks of honey berry that have been banked since the robes came out. (And I 250'd Tailoring)
But if you dont want to pay for anything. I'd go along with the other people reccomending Steamfont Water.

Clover!
Lichenclover seems to be very common on FV. Cursed Clover is next; with some Steamfont Spring Water third and rarely I'll see a Honey Berry or a Sylvan Berry.
Sometimes you can get Bamboo Shoots or Plant Shoots, too, but for some reason Lichenclover's cheap. I can pay 10pp a shot and get tells from people asking if I want to buy more.--"Captain" Antoin Nolouj

Plant shoots
Don't tell any bakers I said this, but I've found the plant shoots to be plentiful, but only if you know someone spending rather a lot of time in Jaggedpine Forest; this would usually be a ranger or druid in their 40's or 50's. The downside is that the forage table for Jaggedpine is huge (7 unique items, and most of the "regular" forage table as well), so you'll get a lot of dross. I'd say at 2 hours a night for a week, fear-kiting timber griffons and anacondas, foraging my little fingers off, I walked away with about 3 stacks of plant shoots. Those shoots then turned into 58 dyes, and I increased my skill 9 times making ribbons. As always, your mileage may vary.Chase

Honey Berry & Seahorse Roe
I would agree with the previous poster about Honey Berry. I was leveling an alt in DL recently and there was Honey Berry dropping like crazy off of the dogs.
Additionally, because my main is a Erudite, I used a druid to forage and kill spiders and snakes in Erudin Crossing and found the Seahorse Roe to be very plentiful.
However, the best way to obtain any of this is either two-box a forager (or have a friend with a forager on another account) and hit the forage button while you play your other account. Many friends of mine volunteered to forage for me on their two-boxers. Aside from helping me out, they were able to sell the left overs in the bazaar for a pretty hefty price; in fact, I had one friend that sold bamboo shoots on D.R. after he was done foraging for me for 180pp/shoot I believe. Depending on the rarity of the component (Seahorse Roe and Bamboo in particular), your can make a pretty penny obtaining these items.
