Shawl quest combines...

I have just started the shawl quest. I noticed that there are a few combines requiring using the shawl in the attempt to gain the next shawl. Is the shawl returned on a failure? If not, are there any combines that are notorius for failures and requiring you to start over??

Fear not, young padawan....

Any combine that uses your current shawl to create the next one will always return your current shawl upon failure. You can lose the components for the next shawl but you never have to start over at the beginning. If by some freak of nature, for example, your 5 shawl gets eaten when you combine it with the spool of thread you should petition immediatly.

This is the link to the velious quests page that have tradeskill parts. Most your fears about the shawl can be quelched by reading the various sections, although, you may gain a few fears you might not have expected along the way. This is the best walkthrough you'll find on the shawl, anywhere.
