no they aren't. i have only found them where they spawn unless someone else picked them up and dropped them or a druid did.

Actually,
having collected an insane amount of ground spawns over my time in EQ, I can say with almost certainty, that Yes, they do spawn in the same general area each time, however it is NOT the exact same spot. The reason I know this is because, sometimes those ground spawns find themselves inside a hill or tree that I had previously picked up NEXT to said hill or tree. But yeah pretty close to exact same spot each time (so if you find one....mark it
