  • Are Half-Elves as screwed as it seems?

I'm a level 65 Half-Elf Paladin on Veeshan who is trying to GM Tailoring. Are my options as limited as I think they are?

From what I can tell its either going to be Wyvern, Acrylia, or Ceremonial Solstice robes. No other item seems to be available in large enough quantities.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks for any help;

you must be joking about being screwed. really. no cultural so yes, acrylia, wyvern, solstice robes, other velious leather possible. might try ice silk if you are uber enough to solo burrowers. just stay in dsp at the hopper caves for a bit and kill them all. dont take from a group exping there cause you could. maybe into acrylia cavenrs with group for acrylia drops.

oh we are all screwed on tailoring. as an erudite i get a little break but plan to do most of that up there myself with very little cultural till i am higher. robes maybe.

I have to agree with eniamn. Tailoring is difficult no matter what your race/class. Though I have to admit I wish I were of a race that could be int caster since those loy robes seem to sell ok.

Sure as a wood elf, I have cultural tailoring, but it's not easy or available in "mass quantities." And it's not like the stuff I can make is easy to sell.

Well, anyway, good luck to you!

I guess my point was that the other races all have cultural items they can make which require only a minimal amount of farming, for instance LoY robes. For these type items if you have the plat you can do a lot of combines per day.

For me though the only option is farm, farm, farm.

BTW, I'm at 187 now so ribbons are trivial so I'm trying to sell them in the bazaar since I can't use them to make robes. Look for Yandsale in the bazaar on Veesan if you want to buy some Platinum Forestgreen? Ribbons.

solstice robes. not that much farming. mainly silk. lots of pp too. buy it in bazaar or contact someone who sells them if they are out and place an order. pp makes norrath go round. tailoring is much harder to throw pp at. i plan on wyvern myself. plan to exp off them some at least.

Nothing takes minimal amount of farming when it comes to tailoring. Someone has to farm most everything, wether it be you, your friends, or whoever you pay for components.

If you have plat, you can make a large amount of combines of anything... as long as the bazaar farming holds out.

LoY robes = random drop item off random mobs worldwide, with no chance to narrow it down other than by level of mob.

Wyvern masks = pelt from wyvern, CS; fish from CS, velium from 4-5 zones, dropped by specific mob types.

The big differnce is, farmers and sellers know what wyvern hides are for.. the majority of people are clueless when it comes to robe ingredients.

Only as screwed as a dwarf tailor, or a barbarian, a troll or an ogre, etc.

Normal cultural races: halfing, erudite (and the normal cultural is very expensive), wood elf.

Robe cultural races: human, erudite, high elf, gnome, dark elf, iksar. (I think that's all).

              So, half-elves are not alone.

hehe old cultural takes the 4 ruby mana vials. actually cheaper to do bd cultural since the prices dropped. erudite cultural. also we tailor mainly plate class stuff. woven platinum really isn't that good at all for casters.

when can i get sol ro gear like karana gear? diety restricted but not racially. think a robe is in order at least. sol ro gets no items beyond idol and jewelry. even veeshan has gear and sol ro is a lot more common of a god.
