  • Pricing Sacred Silk of Tunare

I decided to make Sacred Silk of Tunare to skill up from 92 - 135 tailoring. It went suprisingly, and only took about 100 combines.

To make a long story short, I now have about 80 of these in my bank and was thinking about reselling them in the bazaar for people working on solstice robes to recoup some of the platinum spent. Considering they cost about 50pp to make (25pp for silk swatch, 12pp for two celestial essences, 12pp for emerald) and a bunch of subcombines. What do you guys think a fair price (that will actually sell) is? 75pp... 100pp?

    Thanks,

personally when I skilled up on robes I made it all myself. It was costly enough that I was willing to do all the subcombines in house (cept for celestial essence) to keep the costs low. I would assume anyone who bought the silk would be a master tailoring making robes to sell. Since most markets are selling robes below cost this wouldnt happen often if at all. I would think you may have to cut your losses and sell near cost maybe 60-75pp each, but your server may differ from Veeshan.

My advice? KEEP THEM! skill up on robes later 80 will net you a lot of combines and likely a skill up or 2.

Thanks for the input Renjah. I was leaning towards the prices you are suggesting. I may just put them up at 100 or 75 and see if someone buys them. If so, then I have gotten back how much I spent with perhaps a tiny bit extra. If not, I can always use them later to skill up with (which I don't plan to actually do until I get to level 65 with 100+ aa's (level 58 now)).

      Thanks,

if you'r enot in a hurry to sell go ahead and price them high sometimes a sucker err desperate buyer comes along for quick sale go a bit lower. I usually lean toward quick sale as I HATE bazaar I always go LD at night

I had almost a stack of those left over once I stopped working on tailoring. I priced them at 100 each and they sat around for a couple of weeks until I got a tell the other night offering me 75 each for them.

this is where people can run into problems pricing items they make

Considering they cost about 50pp to make (25pp for silk swatch, 12pp for two celestial essences, 12pp for emerald) and a bunch of subcombines.
for the ones i just finished using to make some robes...

they cost about 16pp to make (0pp for silk swatch (i farmed them), 3pp for two celestial essences (i made them), 13pp for emerald(ok, yah got me.. i bought that one)) and a bunch of subcombines.

if you buy components in the bazaar premade, you're cost is going to be higher than what they actually cost to make. people do need to make a profit on what they make (i believe), but you're not only having to make your profit, but the profit for the people you bought the swatches and essence from.

                I WOULD NEVER SELL

If you have any inclination of mastering tailoring, I would never sell these things.

Keep them, you may want to gm tailoring, and obtaining the components for those things is not fun.

I agree on the keeping them part. You're just gonna have to remake them anyway and spend more money. Start a new char on your same account, transfer them over and forget about them.

When I sold my left overs, I sold them for 40pp each - even then, it took a month for them to sell.

I have seen people on DRo willing to pay 100pp each for these things. Those that pay for them value time more than anything else, they also have more pp than they need....

I would say don't sell them in you have any thoughts of going GM, but if not, stick them on a mule and you will eventually sell them.

My left overs I just gave to friends that were also skilling up on robes, because nobody on my server makes the robes thinking profit.

I have never seen sacred tunare silks for sale anywhere on my server (Tarew Marr). Since I am making the robes soley for skillups, I'd be first in line if anyone sold them. People are paying 300-400pp EACH for flawless rockhopper hides and I'd happily pay between 100-200pp per sacred tunare silk to avoid all of that horrendous clicking. (Please note that the economy is different from server to server.)

um? question. 25pp per silk swatch? you sir or madam have too much money and give it to me. i farmed my silk and relly recommened that. get a couple gem studded chain and try (hopefully not make but try) some solstice robe combines. would be better to do wus and save them for a bit but if silk is 25 then heady kiola are prolly stupid priced too.

I sold 20 stacks of these silks at 125 pp a silk.

Guy was desperate and did not want to do it at all.

                          Lucky me heh

Average price for Silk Swatches on Xev is 15-20 per. Some economies are shot to hell and mines one of em.

I sell these at 100pp/ea it can take a while but it usaully is worth it. Granted when i sell them at this price I sold 75 stacks at once to someone not just a few here and there. You can make some easy money off of these is you have quantity, quite interesting seeing how price will ususally drop when you purchase more. But this mostly due to the fact when you will need 3 per combine most will prefer to get them all at once to work them out instead of hunting for a while for the best possible deal on a smaller quantity. Granted its cheaper for people but, if you think about all the time someone spends looking around for the best deal compared to posssible money to be made doing else is quite a large difference to me.
