  • HIE cultural secondary market

    Hi, I'm working on cultural and succedeed in making robe of Sorcery and Robe Of The Skewn.
    I put them two weeks ago at 300pp on the bazaar and sold none.
    1 week at 250, nothing ;
    Am I 2 expensive?
    I begin to have my inventory full of them $
    What's the price usually on your server, on mine, I'm the only one that sells that stuff

    I've found that the Dark Elf equivalents (Robe of the Cyclone and Robe of Burnishing) are barely worth putting on my bazaar vendor. I can sell them every so often priced at like 25 and 50 respectively. At this point, most of what I make while skilling up gets sold to vendors. Now of course this is the situation on my server (Vazaelle), I'm sure that the number of people making these robes, as well as their races, varies wildly from server to server.

    Anyway, the gold ribbon robes (for you that'd be Robe of Tears and Robe of Slant) generally do a bit better. I've been able to sell the Robe of Wings for 250 and Robe of Ellipse for around 800. A few folks went on an undercutting spree though so my prices have gone down considerably... As usual it's difficult to make a steady profit off of items that people have found are a viable skillup route.

    Once you do get your skill up though, you should be able to make a decent profit off of the platinum ribbon robes. If you can get your hands on the research components... Also, being a High Elf, you got saddled with one of the less desireable "Level 6" robes, with Reagent Conservation III on it. Any effect is better than no effect though, and the stats are still nice.

    When pricing these things, one thing to keep in mind is that the robes that the other 5 races can make are, for the most part, identical to yours. You might be the only one selling a Robe of the Skewn for under 300 plat, but if somebody's selling 20 Robes of Breath for 50, chances are yours isn't going to sell very quickly. With all the cultural robes out there, people most likely aren't searching by name, but by stat. When they see a bunch of 5 int robes at 200+ and one or two at 50, they're going to buy the 50's.

      quick and accurate answer, I hadn't noticed that other races made similar robes how stupid am I !
      I'll look at other cultural robes to check offer....
      My biggest problems ATM is to find foraged items (LichenXXX and Sylvan Berries) as there are not a lot of foragers who sell their stuff on my server (Sebilis) and friends are worth but not at all time, especially when the zones involved are completly unsignificant in terms of loot and/or experience (FV & LF)
      I collected during my past 20 levels Runes and words needed at the merchants so I've a big stock of swatches (except Rune of impulse and word of virtue that I never seen, if some1 could tell me where people are more inclined to sell theirs to merchants ::)

        I have been making the LoY cultural for skill up for a while. I don't even make the skewn anymore since it's easier for me to find Tears of Prexus and make the robe of tears. I priced them around 300pps on Xev and sold a few of them. Few skewns I made sold for around 150pp. I will have a few and they don't sell anymore. I have lowered my price of tears to about 250 and still not selling. I just sold about 20 of them to a vendor the other day to clear out my inventory slot. I don't think people know what to look for in bazaar so that's why they are not selling.

          robe of tears is an awesome robe. wore it until i got my smr. love it. however it is a skillup robe cause tears aren't that rare. means the market can get tanked sometimes. i look for it though when i dont need an effect on my robe.
