  • Tailoring Fail reduction?

I knew it's a bit awkward for a Solusek Ro wizard doing the solstice robe combines, those things being Tunare and all, but hey... I got a bit tired of camping hoppers, so what the heck...

    Never again...
    NEVER AGAIN...

During a series of 40 combines, I managed to get ONE skill up (184->185) and FOUR successes....

Then I did 4 studded acrylia masks and got another...

I'll stick with hoppers.... doing close to a 1000 sub-combines with the end result being 1 skill up kind of ends my exploits in the Tunare business then and there...

    Edit:
If you farm everything yourself, and do the imbues for free, solstice robes go at 55pp/combine, 102pp succes(if sold for 200pp on bazaar.) You might earn 50-100pp if farming in EK.
acrylia studded/reinforced costs 23 gp, 15gp to vendor, and a single campclear might get you a few 100-1000pp. (Depending how you do it.)

4 successes at your level for the solstice robe is out of the ordinary. I would say 1 success in 100 attempts is more the norm. If you want to skillup fast, hoppers is not the way to go. It is cheaper however. You can farm 100 solstice combines in less than a day, you'd be hard pressed to come up with 100 flawless hopper hides in the same amount of time.

as a fellow sol ro wizard i must say anything to do with nature girl is bound to be bad for us. and 1/10 succes with rng is just getting lucky. (note whether that luck was good or bad is your call.)

5 combines with flawless hopper hides, 3 skill ups...

Still got 3 stacks flawless lying around... let's see what that resolves into
        190 skill and counting

100 solstice robe combines... that's 300 imbue emeralds, 600 spider silks, and 400 celestial essences... thousands of subcombines.... you'll be doing a week non-stop just to get it all combined...

Besides, I'm a wizard... I kill hoppers by the train Clear the whole caves in 2 pulls, camp to lose agro on the rooted Age Old , and med back the 60% mana the whole thing cost me

One day of hopperhunting would easily net me 100 flawless AND superb, as well as dozens of luclin shards... then I follow up with a day of TM, nuking the vamps when they are up, pbae'ing grimling caves and nuking grol baku wanderers when they are not Or help with AC shard camp

            Quikpik,

I have similar story with solstice robes. I started at 187 tailoring, made about 60 or so solstice attempts and succeded on 8 robes and got 6 skill ups I do believe that the success rate on solstice robes was modified.

i averaged about 1.5 skill ups per stack on sols robes starting at skill 197, although, i did get hell levels, but the points all rounded out about to that. it took me about a day to get 40-60 combines together. and i had muched rather do that than farm, was really the way to go for me.

Arctic wyvern masks i get about 1 skill ups per stack, this is all with wis at 305, i did get a really bad hell level (yes i know there are no hell lvls, its the range blahblah i call it a hell level). but it hasnt been rounded out like it did with robes. =(

HATED sol robes i did them for about 8 points between 185 and 208

Took me days to get up the stuff for the combines and i would succed 2-3 robes out of ever stack this was with no geerlock and my dex as low as i could get it (160ish) Then to top it off id only skill up about once ever 40 combines. no thanks ill go back to farming velium and rockhoppers

velious leathers have a miserable success rate but at least if you farm it yourself its not as godawful time comsuming mindless clicking
