  • Dye Componants

Working on the Aid Gimel quest and tailoring is my last skill to raise. I'm sitting at 171 now working my way through ribbons atm. Afterwards I will do solstice robes and finally arctic wyvren masks.

To this end, my 65 wizard has been laying waste to CS clearing wyvrens while I alt-tab to my 59 bard for fishing. we know of course that bard forage is rather pointless. My question is since some of the ribbon dyes are listed as mob drops(DC aqua goblins for example), is it more viable to farm them or just pay the average 50 to 65pp each in the bazaar on my server and keep slaughtering wyvrens and using the gem drops to offset my dye cost?

If they are reasonably common I'll just run around killing them for a bit, otherwise I'll just suck it up and buy the dye.

    Thanks in advance.

well, Steamfont Spring Water is what you need to farm.

It'll be good for platinum ribbons to skill 182, and it's easy to farm. Just slaughter every kobold in Steamfont, repeat, repeat... decent drop rate, and you can often find a few on nearby vendors.

Hope this helps, getting the last 5 points to 187 aren't so nice.

There's nothing cheap about LoY robes, only less expensive.

If you're skilling up on the ribbons, make sure you make the ones your race can use later on to make robes

Between a 65 wizzard and a 59 bard, you can famr cash faster than you can farm springwater, suck it up and buy it. I can, on a bad night, pull in around 1500 an hour with a 62 bard or 61 druid. Best I ever did was about 2700 in an hour. So I'd buy it and get it over with.
