  • Silk or Pelts

I am in the process of skilling up my cleric for preparation of doing the Shawl quests.

As I don't have plat to throw at skilling up quickly, I prefer to farm the parts myself. To this end I use a 37 ranger and slaughter lions/spiders in EK. This has the added bonus of foraging tea leaves/plains pebbles.

My question is would it be better to save the pelts for padding (smithing) and pottery (poison vials ) ? The reason I ask is I average 10 silk / 2 HQ pelt / 1 MQ pelt.

With many of the newbie zones dropping quest stuff for low level armour quests, I find drop rates there far too low. I know I can use pelts from 57 -115 skill but if silk is so much easier to collect...

Or am I missing some better zone to farm pelts ?

    Thanks in advance

personally, i'd keep collecting both, and use the silks through to 82 (cured silk mask).. then use all the hq's (cat) you have for the tailored quivers.

any misc quality pelts you end up with you can make into padding then to help finance youreself further.

      FYI

I believe most will tell you that Stonebrunt is better for collecting MQ and HQ cat pelts.

A lot of people say that EK is best for Spider silks, but I always collected mine in Upper and Lower Guk. I would kill the spiders in Upper Guk and then go kill the spiders off of the bedroom in Lower Guk. While I waited for respawns, I would camp a rare in Lower Guk like AM, Ghoul Lord, or Frenzy. I could then camp the spiders and kill the rare or the place holder while waiting for the spiders to respawn.

      Hope this helps.

Guk is an alternative for silks.. but the droprate i've gotten in there is 9-11 silks a clearing.. basically 5 swatches per 18 mins. I can do a lot better in EK.
