  • Rockhoppers & hunting spots

Has anybody ever hunted rockhoppers in Hollowshade or in Marus Seru?

Allah's site as well as this site, lists those 2 zones as zones that can potentially drop Superb or Flawless rockhopper pelts.

    Or is that a mistake?

The rockhoppers in Marus Seru (greyhoppers) Only drop Greyhopper Hide and Low Quality Hides. After spending countless hours there farming for padding I say this with some authority. As for the moor I haven't killed hoppers there en masse so I am not sure with that one.

      Marus Seru, no.

Mons Letalis, next zone over, yes. Somewhat higher level, drop off adult and mature rockhoppers which hit for up to 120.

Shadeweaver's hoppers are alleged to drop flawless/superb hopper hides as their very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very rare drop.

        Possibly.

But I've levelled three or four character there for newbie levels and never seen one, either as a drop or on the vendors there.
Itzena Alhazared, Revenant of {Planeteers}, Vallon Zek. And also a seamstress.
Gelcea Macha, Wandering Animist of Tarew Marr. Will be a smith, one day.

Prime hunting grounds for those appear to be DSP.
I have been mostly doing Mons Letalis, though. It's a bit tougher there, but at least very little competition.

            -Mons Letalis-

I tryed the hoppers there but didn't seem to find a static loaction for the hoppers. Was just runing around and killing any roamers I saw. Was I blind or just didn't look hard enough?

Mt Letalis hopper sux tho. Even with the lack of competition, the drop rate is very low.

I have spent over 60 hours killing Rockhoppers in Hollowshade, and have never seen Superb or Flawless pelts.

The best place I found for HQ hides is Saurek Hoppers in Shadeweavers. As for the Flawless & Superb, my place of choice was in Scarlett Desert at the bottom of the ramp that leads to the plateau. Nothing wanders up the ramp so it made a good pull spot for the 5 or so that spawned in that area. As it was clear I could usually find a coupe random ones a little further out before the ones by the ramp respawned.

Eniamn, I don't recommend Mons Letalis for a lvl 39.

Hoppers, adult and mature, hit very hard, I've been doubled for 120; mature also have a crapload of hps...risk vs reward is way out of whack.

Zone would be lousy for kiting/quadding also. Rocky with huge dropoffs. I take more damage from falling than from mobs (silly shaman never seems to remember levitate). You get lots of adds from stonegrabbers as well.

Wait a sec...why do I still hunt there???

Maybe I should travel off to SD, too
