    Possible 9th shawl??

    I know SOE/Verant/whoever they are has said that once the "8th shawl has been blessed by a god what more do you want," butthis thread got me thinking.

    Its from Velious
    Its tailoring
    Its nodrop
    It has a trivial higher than soft fur padding
    no other velious tailoring uses nodrop items

    All points that favor a 9th shawl but then im probably just getting my hopes up. Just have to kill geo's for the eigth but if anyone already has it they might want to run around thurg looking for a new npc or a new responce when asking about the shawl.

    Think everyone would love a 9th shawl. However the question was asked at the FF, results are Here

    There will not be any more shawls. Once a god gives you an item directly, there's not much better to be had.

      Except we all know there *are* better shoulders out there.

      When some drop for us, I wont ask for them though, my shawl is like a trophy lol

        Actually, I did some search on Alla, and came to a conclusion that the only shoulder items I would consider upgrades come from Coirnav and from something in PoTime.

          You know, I really hate to disagree here, but, I do.

          Yes you are getting an item blessed by a god, specifically, The Avatar of Below. But, it is not from Brell, who we all are praying to for guidance and inspiration while doing this quest. Should we not be getting the BEST shawl from HIM, not one of his lackeys?

          The final shawl should be coming from Brell, himself. I think they short-changed themselves and the player base by stopping at the 8th shawl and giving that lame excuse. Be creative. They came out with PoP and LDoN, they should be able to figure out how to implement the last 2 shawls, that they originally said they would have, having Brell himself giving the quests and final shawl.

          But, hey, what do I know. A god is a god, and they are ALL equal. Right??

              An avatar should, for all intents and purposes, be considered the same as speaking with the god himself.

              Ergo, the shawl can be considered to be directly from Brell.

                  FT3 and an extended enhancement buff is pretty darn good. I'm happy I finally finished mine.

                  I thought I would stop tradeskilling after I finished it, but it's snowballing and I'm not only doing it to try the Aid Grimel quest but to have the satisfaction of knowing that I had the patience to sit down and keep at something that a minority of people do. That, and just to solidify everyone's idea that I'm totally insane and crazy...

                    actually... half the people I know are doing aid gimmel. In a way I think it's a bad quest for tradeskillers because it puts a whole bunch of skilled players into the pool.

                      They probably didn't realize how many people would do aid grimel.

                      Also, there obviously isn't going to be a 9th shawl but it isn't because the Avater of Below gave you the 8th one. Even Brell can give a face to face thank you now and then.

                          That would force them to raise the fishing cap above 200 first.

                          And fishing is already (kind of) involved for the 7th shawl. You have to fish Iceclad Cutlassfish to extract the oil. The fish is, of course, tradeable, so not everyone has to skill up fishing...it was something for me to work on while I was fishing in PoN and PoV for bones to sell in the bazaar. Of course, once I hit 180ish in fishing I had to go all the way...

                            He effectively did.

                            That's what an avatar is. The god takes a little piece of himself and sends it off to handle a job. So you are, in effect, having a chat with Brell himself.

                              the triv on the blessed fishing poel is over 200 isn't it? jsut cause there is a cap doens't mean the cap ahs to be raised first. how many >250 recipes are there? i sid it jsut to be a smart ass but i wouldn't be surprised if that was the 9th shawl like a combine in a tacklebox
