  • Where can I find Sabertooth tiger hides?

For the wood elf cultural tailoring of mithril studded armor wood elven tailors need sabertooth tiger hides. The database says there are no known sources for this. I find that odd. Does anyone know where a decent source of these might be? I noted in a guide that was posted sometime back that they are Kunark era drops, but where in Kunark? Loio perhaps? OT? anyone that knows a good source please let me know. It would be good to see this info but into the DB as well.

Bingo! LoIO & OT. are the only places I have seen them. I recommend the area just north of the windmill in LoIO. That seems to be the best concentration of them as well as the lowest level that drop the hides you want. There are lots of lower level ones near Cabilis as well, but they only drop cat pelts.

thanks ... much as I hate to farm thing that have a low drop rate looks like I know where I am headed after work ... I''ll post if I find that the drop rate is any good. heck I'll post anyway if it drops at all at least then others will know a source.

(just read that again and it didn't seem complimentary to those that pull all that hard work into this site. No intention of slamming Denmom or the coders ... Without your hard work and dedication I among others would still be fumblin with recipes and what-not ... THANKS!)

If you just want regular saber hides, the bazaar usually has a ton of them real cheap. You can also check the NPC merhcants regularly in LOIO and FV...

But if you're still getting xp from killing the saber kitties, then go for it. And save the excellent hides - you'll need'em later. =)

I can tell you what we got for drops last night. We were there last night for leveling, so we took on a lot of not-cat prey, so that might have had something to do with what we didn't find in terms of pelts.

In about =< three hours of pull, slow, kill kill kill last night I think we had three hides total. However we had a number of manes drop, a bunch of ruined cat pelts, and a few other things, all of which were useful for us.

We were pulling anything white/yellow/red so our time was split between cats, skellies, and goblins. Your drop rate might improve if you focused on just the cats, obviously.
