Hi tailors, I have a question for you:
I'm a high elf magician, level 62 with 200 research and 182 tailoring. I've been making Robe of Skewn to skill up on.
I have found a trader in the bazaar that sells a (seemingly) unlimited number of Nilitims 115. So much so that I have 4 stacks of the swatches in my bank.
Now, these robes trivial at 222. The silver ribbons cost 15pp to make and the guy sells the Nilitims 115 at 30pp per, I farm the lichenclover myself, and then factoring the cost of water, quills and parchments, for a total cost of maybe 45.6pp per combine. That's less than half the price that the platinum ribbons alone cost, and have a (if limited) resale value of about 50 pp. The running around is a bit of a pain though.
I just did 44 combines, with 1 skill up (181-182). :P Sounds like the RNG plus the difficulty of attaining higher trivial skillups, unless there is some unmentioned skill up nerf on this combine but I am not one to give in to supersition. I feel like I'm in tailoring heaven after having spent about 7k on platinum ribbons.
My Question is:
These robes are a viable skill up route to 222, right?
I can farm lichenclovers easily enough, plus the drovargs drop enough plat to finance or at least cover part of the purchasing of the ribbons. Right now, the only holdback seems to be my desire -- or lack there of-- to farm lichenclovers and how fast I can kill those suckers. I've spent so much time in FV that I've seen 3 AJ in one day.
Has anyone else gone this route?
