As a projected guess.. the boots should come in right about here when finally made:

I havn't personally tried them, however, elemental planes tailoring items aren't a 100% combine at any point. For your friend to fail once really doesn't mean it's bugged, just that his luck is about like everyone elses.

http://www.eqtraders.com/recipes/rec...r=080110160000 is a link to the leather recipes for PoP, and you'll see that there is more than firehide boots that remain unmade (or unreported) at the moment.

Part of it is the difficulty getting the components, part of it is the final products stats in comparision to another type of armor. From the general look of the sets, i'd say that the water leathers would be more wanted than fire, for wis casters, and maybe even the earth... so it doesn't suprise me a lot that they havn't been reported on to date; and, the studs to make this set require the magma crystals to make the tempers, which are mostly funneled into the Inferno Plate smithed armor by guilds, so it's yet another blow to getting some of these things made.

As for them not being on the other boards you mention,.. well.. this is THE tradeskill board for EQ. If you're looking for tadeskill things, this would be a good place to start

While i know how expensive the combines can become, odds are you're going to have to have several attempts made before you get a success.
