  • Tailoring level up

looking at the possible routes to get to 200 tailoring, I am a HIE cleric who worships tunare. My current skill is 177.
I have LOTS of swatches and am able to imbue own emeralds and have access to a JCM3 enchanter.
I have done LoY ribbons to 177 so have lots of the platinum crimson ribbons.
Basically was wondering what my best bet for the lowest amount of PP to get to 200 would be. from the sounds of it Rune of impulses are quite rare. I am able to get sylvan berries fairly easily/cheap. so was looking at the robe of tears or skewn as possible skillup routes. (where are good spots to farm tears of prexus and nillitmils grimroire pages)
I can continue with ribbons till 182 but am sort of on a cash budget. my wisdom maxes out at 165.
Any suggestions on which route to take or another route to take for the lowest amount of PP would be much appreciated.
(and yes i realize that this question has been asked probably 50+times)

If your wisdom max is 165 right now, you will save a ton of money just investing in wisdom gear (more frequent skillups means less attempts overall).

After that, solstice robes would be good if your JCM3 access is always around. I don't know much about the cultural robes for you, but unless you want to farm and fish a lot (in which case arctic wyvern or acrylia reinforced are next to nothing in cost), solstice robes are about 45pp each try excluding chain cost and assuming you farm the silk.

The most effective use of cash to improve yoiur skillup rate would be to get your wisdom up to 255

I agree wholeheartedly. Recently I got my level 24 enchanter up to 250 JC. Her INT was only about 175 by the time I got her to 150 and already it seemed to me that things were really slowing down. I loaned Eliste (my enchanter) several INT twink items I use myself when tradeskilling (such as a Bracelet of Comprehension, Stein of Moggok, and a sapphire velium necklace), and then bought her some other high-INT items, including putting her on a diet of Qeynos Afternoon Tea and Misty Thicket Picnics (while forcefeeding iron rats and water, of course). I got her up to around 240 INT.

This really sped things up til I got to around 190 and the brakes slammed on again. Back to the bazaar -- replaced her Blackened Crystalline Robe with a Robe of Slant, bought a Hive Brain for a good price, replaced a few other items that got her INT up a few points here and there, and ended up with an unbuffed INT of 255 -- while holding a jewelling geerlok in her primary hand. For the rest of her jewelling career, I failed seldom and skilled up as fast as I have ever in any tradeskill -- which still meant occasional runs of 80-90 combines per point, but not bad all things considered. I ended up with 250 JC on Eliste for an overall investment of a little under 8k ... not including the twink items which she will use anyway (I sold her old items relatively quickly).

The best robe to skill up on is by far the robe of tears.

PoK & the Bazaar. People sell these to vendors all the time. I just pick them up when I see them (less than 2pp each). I have about 8-10 stacks in the bank just from grabbing them off vendors as I see them.

arghhh i hate when typing to fast and mistype something lol, my wis is at 265 not 165. thanks for the suggestions i will start to farm PoK/bazaar for tears of prexus, they seem about the only viable option LoY wise. Plus will start sitting down and working on making the solstice robes again.
