hello all been reading the boards searching for some info on these 2 items.As far as i can tell theyre quested in shar vahl but i cant find the quests anywhere any help would be much appreciated.

Carapaces

I've decided to do this Shar Vahl quest becuase i found that humming orbs will raise my skill nicely, plus the hammer and anivl may be helpful in future smithing. But I am having a horrible time, where and what drops those bloodling carapaces. I tried the little lvl 2 Cht'Ak Bloodlings in shadeweaver's or whatever they are called, yet could not find a single one. Help please!!!

Those are the right mobs Zydrenas, the carapaces are just annoyingly rare

oh I hated those carapaces before I was done! Best of luck to you, I also have chosen the SS path.

I did the entire quest in about 6 hours. 5 of those hours were spent gathering the carapaces. During that time I also got 9 swirling shadows. After that it was just a few minutes killing wolves in HM & then a few more minutes killing bears in PC.

Bloodling Carapaces are teh DEBIL!

I farmed em like crazy over a 2 day period to get the 16 I needed. I paid for I think 4 of them. 5pp each, and the last one, if someone got it before me (and someone did :lol) I paid 25pp for.

The rest was relatively simple. *shrug*

I keep the Bloodling Plate Tunic that was made with the carapaces on me. That way, if a friend wants to start Shadowscream Steel, I can spare them the bloodling slaughter.

So, if you do this quest, keep your tunic to spare the next poor soul.

Friend of mine had done the quest, and loaned me his tunic. He heard me moaning and bitching about how stupid rare those carapaces are.

Ya know, I never really thought of that. I have my tunic in the bank too... I'm glad I hung onto it. Heck, I can farm this thing out to all my friends to help them out too! WOOT!

Many thanks for the posts all, I spent two hours and in that time was able to acquire both all 16 carapaces and 9 swirling shadows while completing the quest. It's time to put those tools to the test! Good luck all!
