  • LDoN smithing-go hunt some orcs!

The info on one of the new LDoN areas is up,namely the Rujarkian Hills, located in the desert of Ro (from the obvious zoneline-to-be,I'd bet Oasis).

    Link to it is here:

    http://www.gamespy.com/interviews/july03/ldon2/

The interesting note for me and other smiths was this quote, however:

"GameSpy: Tell us a little more about this lost orc tribe."

"Alan Vancouvering: Their tribal organization isn't very different than that of other orcs. In many ways they are similar to more common orcs. But their time in isolation and their greater intellect make them much more dangerous foes. They are a little more organized than the typical orc as well, and have mastered some skill at metallurgy and weapon-smithing. "

I've been picking through the LDoN info for tradeskill stuff-that looks like a clue to me.

    Fironia Vie (Patron,House Do'Ceannai)

    Stromm (Denmother's)

whoa, at first i thought that said orihalcum, aka orihalcon...
that would actually be a good idea as us nerd types would recognise it and everyone else wouldnt care anyway

and then someone would come up with a half-baked idea about how it should make some lev item since its called a flying metal in this one place they saw a couple years ago.

anyway, if there is a new metal associated with the new orcs, they'll probably name both the orc tribe and the metal after the area (rujark/rujarkium) or come up with some random name for the tribe and name the metal after that, or just press the 'generate fantasy-based name button' and stick us all with tarnalium. I remember I thought acrylia was acrylic for about a day...

I would vote for Orcilium Has a ring to it. Then we could get Goblinium, and Gnollium and ...Just kidding....

They could do a Rocky and Bullwinkle and call it upsidaysium (not sure how they spelled it in the classic cartoon).
