Go read http://mboards.eqtraders.com/upload/...hreadid=10039. Yer just unlucky. You can have really nasty streaks without a skillup and it is all according to the Vision.

There seems to be a kind of pattern to it. In most threads I've read and in my experience, there are a few skill pts that are much harder to get than others. Most notably 188-189, 200-201, 201-202, and there's a few others. When you hit those points, make a note of how much longer(if at all) it takes you.

If u are a porter class or can 2-box one, do 1st step of aid grimel earring from 220 to 227. Much quicker than shadowscream

What you mean is that if you are bertoxx flagged you should do this.

It doesn't matter what class you are, this is by far the best way to go IF it is available to you. Most of us still need to work for those 7 points though.

really if you are a GATING class you do it easily you bind up top make sure after you take the elevator down you click the button to make it go back up. go do your combine then gate back..

            repeat ad nausium

I personally am getting disgusted with shadowscream (again) i just want 250 smithing so i can say goodbye to the @#$#@$ skill and to my hammer/anvil (soon it shall meet the destroy button!!!)

            12 points away from 1750 /sigh

By lack of supplies to work on Cultural armor for skillups, I decided to go the Shadowscream route. I dreaded the farming (especially in Tenebrous Mountains), but that didn't turn out so bad after all.

I have been stuck at 229 for 200+ combines (I didn't count them exactly, but since I usually do batches of 20+ combines in a sessions, I could estimate it was well over 200), until I recently broke through and made 230. I then swapped to farming Shadowscream stuff; just tonight I made a run of 18-ish items. I gained 2 skillups in a row (Tunic and Leggings, heh).

Sometimes your luck is tough, sometimes it smiles on you. Keep at it, you'll get there.

                188-201 Hell Level

1-188 was a breeze... then came the wall.. yup, that 188 to 201 wall. Spent well over 30k, made all kindza stuff, SS, human culteral, acrylia.. But after 201, things became more stable. It seems from 201 to 218 was pretty much 1-2 skill ups per stack of combines. This phase, I stickly used human culteral (imbued field plate). I seem to hit another wall at skill 218. Spent another 20k and over 80 combines, and got 1 skill up. 219. Ouch.. Farmed more, and combined another 60 combines.. and not a single skill up. I don't know if it was pure dumb luck, but for the hell of it, I wanted to see what this, cutting sickles deal was all about. Yes, no farming required becuase everything was store bought.. which was really nice. I spent about 7k for 1 stack of combines, to test out sickles. To my surprise, I was only able to combine 17 times due to some failure and what do u know... I made 12 of 17 sickles and SKILLED UP 3 TIMES. Wow.. 223 feels good. I wonder if this is a fluke. I went to bazaar and sold all 12 sickles in less than 30 min at 3am pst. I sold them really cheap at 1100ea. Not only did I skill up wildly, but i actually made a profit.. and fast !!! I am omw to go do another stack of sickles... Takes me bout 2 hours to get everything i need. brb, I will let u all know my results. =) hehe

Just this week I finally broke 201 myself.

327 combines to get from 201 to 202. that was all old dwarven cultural and acrylia combines. And then, to top it off, I got another skill up 14 combines later! FINALLY broke out of 201!

/em is VERY happy to be at 203 now.

Now, it's time to farm for shadowscream *sigh*. When I top 220, I'll maybe try some sickles, but not before then.

My first 3 attempts at shadowscream tonight , I went from 188-190, /giggles hysterically . It semed to take me twice as long just to get started because I made a human smith and just kept her at level 5. But because this was the most economical route to goI had to skill my monk , who is 65 , up to 168 so I could farm and make howling orbs /shudder . All in all, I know it will be worth it to eventually see 250 skill

this seems to be another bard's farming paradise... we just load up our AE's, put a lute in hand and aggro all the islands and kill em all at once. bam... of course looting sucks, lol takes more time to click on each corpse and loot out than it is to kill the dudes. just started doing this tho since i finally got 188 smithing (although i'm just starting out really, finished jc a couple days ago). got 15 owlbear substances in about 15mins...right before patch.
