  • Metal Bits..

I can't seem to find any "higher level" recipes that use metal bits.

Am I blind or are they just taking up space in my bank?

Try using the new "Reverse Search"... Search for Metal Bits, pull up the page, then hit the "Find recipes that use this item" link.

      Define "higher level".

There are only 2 smithing recipes above 91 that use metal bits: elm handled shears and hickory handled shears. But in both cases, the expense and remoteness of the materials (shears molds not sold in the same zone as a forge, and not sold in the same zone as the staves, shears molds terribly expensive) makes them impractical for using for skilling.

Kraz, I did a search on metal bits.. pulled up the list of threads containing them. At that point, I found no "find recipes that use this item" link

Zera, thank you. You've just freed up 2 handmade backpacks for me (20 stacks of metal bits takes alot of space)

          OK Try this link:

          http://www.eqtraders.com/search/search.php?menustr=035000000000

There is the Main Site's NEW Search Page... Put in "Metal Bits". Hit Find...

You should then see the Metal Bits Listed, Click it to get it's recipe(s).

There you will see "Find Recipes that use this item" Link.

Some of the tinkered collapsed tradeskill containers use them:

                  Collapsed Fletching Kit
                  Collapsed Jeweller's Kit
                  Collapsed Sewing Kit
                  Collapsed Tacklebox
                  Collapsed Toolbox

You may be able to sell them to a gnome.

metal bits -> *some chain name* (smithing) -> gem studded chain (Jewelcraft) -> robe of solstice (tailoring) -> Xanthe's earring of nature/earring of solstice (smithing)

Worked Silver Chain is what Prizzle was thinking. Not good for skilling up really, but maybe a help for your local tailor.
