  • Little Paranoid about getting stuck at exactly 200

    Hi,

While I don't normally wouldn't post something so whiney here, because I've done the 6 other tradeskills except smithing to 250, and I realize getting bad patches in tradeskills is normal, I wanted to get some quick advice from others working on this massively yucky tradeskill.

I am working on the Aid Grimel quest, and well I left Blacksmithing to be done last. I have completed the AA required for this quest as well.

Anyway, I've been skilling up on Shadowscream fine, had a few bad spots but my skill went up ok though the 190's and then a few days ago I hit exactly 200, which was cool.

After I hit 200, I've done almost 200 shadowscream bracer combines, and have had not one single skillup. If this happened at 199 or even 201, I wouldn't have been worried, just frustrated that the RNG hasn't been working in my favor.

But since its been stuck at exactly 200 (and I have the aa to go to 250 if I wish), I"m very very very paranoid all of a sudden that I'm broken or something and some bug or glitch won't allow me to skill up past 200.

Anyone have this happen or can relate to this sort of thing at all? I guess I'm just very agitated over this and wanted to vent here, probably since I'm 20 points away from this earring quest I've worked so hard on.

Should I just keep farming and keep working on this? It's upset me to the point where I've been considering possibly giving up.

While that many combines CAN happen without a skill up it does sound a bit odd to me. You stated that you have the 3aa points. So is your Tannan Crafting Mastery level 5 since you have 6 tradeskills all over 200? Or is it at level 6?

Each level of Crafting mastery (As I am sure you know) only allows for one additional skill to go over 200 so my next question is do you have a Magelo profile that we could look at or have you looked at all the skills to verify that you have not exceeded 200 in up to 1+Tannan Crafting Mastery level? If you have exceeded that number then you get to go and gather 3 more aa points and drop them into Crafting mastery (sorry).

The same thing happened to me with tailoring. 70 combines to get 201, 50 to 202, but then 27 to get to 203 to 206.
It's just a bad streak at a bad time.

Cavel - to answer your question, yes Sera has max'd NTCM. And in fact she has 466 AA's. /drool

One word to respond to that... WOW

It just sounds like you have had a HORRIBLE time with the RNG... Take it to dinner, then to a movie, buy it a few drinks and talk nice to it... Sooner or later it will give you what you want... a skill up.

Clearly, there is a simple answer!

I understand it is a side effect of molesting bards.

Seriously though, nothing to worry about, especially if you are doing craptacular shadowscream, which LOVES big gaps between skillups.

I think you should just DoT the RNG and kite it around for a while, when it gets tired, root it and then try the combines....

Seriously tho, i did 350 combines to go from 200-201 in tailoring (yes i threw the mouse out the window in anger)

Keep trying and trying and trying and trying and trying

I think you should dress the RNG up in a leather corset, ball-gag and strap it down to the bed, whip it and call it Shirley.

                    Aye

In baking I have run into a similar thing..although I wasn't at 200 I think I was around 180ish in baking I had a very bad streak and did a bit over 300 patty melt combines for 1 skillup.

The RNG is streaky (and thats an understatement).

lol I did the exact same thing with pottery. It took 300+ combines to get from 200 to 201. I was CONVINCED I was bugged and that somehow the game was not picking up my tanaan aa's. I'm now experiencing the same pain with tailoring. 128 combines and counting of Wood Elf cultural. Weeee! =)

Hang in there, it'll come... some day =P

                        JC

I would like to add that the same thing happen on JC. 342, yes I said 342 combines from 200 to 201. Thank god gold was not trivial. So I think that it is safe to say, judgeing by what others have posted, that 200-201 just plain sucks on all skills.

I've been clawing my way from 190 upward in smithing. I'm averaging about 80 combines per skillup with 255 intelligence, with my worst being 105 and my best being around 40.
