    Here is an idea that I stole. I've read bits about DAoC's tradeskill paths. Apparently, there are items simply called "trinkets" that you can make as a tradeskiller. They are totally worthless. No stats, no bonuses, zero sell back value. These items require purchased and dropped stuff to make and the only purpose they serve is to aid in skill up.

    These trinkets, if implemented in EQ would be a VERY good idea. Make the recipes for each trinket require a commonly dropped, NoDrop item and a couple vendored items. This way, the super rich PowerSkillers could still use the normal skill up paths of Sickles or whatnot and the casual gamer or dead broke tradeskiller (<- ME!) can still get skill ups.

    Just an idea.
