PS. Even if i decide to get my skills up to a point where i can do that Ethereal metal ring(which is 210 if i use geerlok). That 10% smithing belt mod is sweet for my future smithing on making those ridicously 300ish trivial items. So i'm hoping i can get that 10% mod belt easily pls.

Also remember that your skill caps at a modified 252 skill so the 10% mod belt is only usefull for higher level smithing until your un modified skill gets 240 after that the belt has the same effectiveness as a geerlok

I just realized by skillings up on LDoN plate armors makes more sense when i'm at 199 coz it's trivial is closer. To top it off they give decent tribute values. So at this point i'm going on that path till I reach the last of the trivial values which is at 210/212.
Yep, LDON plate is a great bridge after fine steel plate, especially if you're of a race that has no cultural smithing (or if you're of a race that has no cultural that trivs between fine steel and BD. Iksar is one of these lol, which is why I'm going the LDON route atm). Downside is that it can take a long time to stockpile temper ingredients, especially if your foraging is low or non-existant. If you can't forage I'd strongly suggest doing all the EC adventures you can; goblin bones are quite a common drop usually (unless you get an adventure with very few goblins). I've received about 14 goblin bones in one adventure once dropped, which I supplemented with 4 more I foraged (4 about the most you can hope for with 50 foraging). On average, assuming a decent number of goblins, an EC adventure nets me about 10 bones.
Always ask at the beginning of an adventure if the group wouldn't mind letting you keep any temper ingredients that drop. I've only once had a group not say yes (that one time is because there was someone else that was smithing too, so I split the drops between him). Also if there's a druid or ranger in the group, ask if they'd be willing to try to forage you some. Worth a shot, though most people who bother to forage in LDONs keep the temper ingredients for their own use or sell them in the Bazaar. Bards, iksar, wood elves (that aren't druids or rangers) can forage too, but just barely, but may be able to get 3 or 4 during the course of an adv. Every little bit helps. If you have an alt that's a druid or ranger, try to get them in adventures and forage whatever you can.
You can buy these in Bazaar, but are really expensive (50pp EACH on the average) and really ruins the cost advantage of doing this. But if you have a ton of plat and are willing to spend it to avoid the PITA farming you'd otherwise have to do, go for it.
Yeah, that sounds like it would take you forever to get enough to smith with, hehe, but at least you're getting xp, plat, and adventure points while you're farming. Is a lot less of a hassle than farming for shadowscream, that's for sure.
Also note than on LDON plate, the temper ingredient is all you have to farm for; every other ingredient used is storebought, and that's a huge selling point.
For some reason I have such a hard time skilling up on ldon plate that it makes EVBs a much preferred path for me. The miners are not too stingy with the velium and if you have the zone to yourself youre set.
My last 3 runs for Smithing consisted of the following:
1st run) 52 EVB combines....2 skill ups (188)
2nd run) 46 ldon combines....1 skill up (189)
3rd run) 36 EVB combines and 9 ldon combines....3 skill ups (192) (all from EVBs)
I'm going to stick to EVBs due to the amount of time I SAVE on just farming those poor miners versus spending hours and hours in pick up groups to only come out of it (sometimes groups are frustrating) with 1 stack of combines.
Honestly, there was a point where cultural was a huge consideration, when deciding what race to smith. However, the cultural market is pretty depressed on most servers these days, and the LDON armors/EVBs can replace most of the old cultural for skillups. Once those trivial, based on prices lately in the bazaar, I'd say you could at least break even skilling on sickles and Tae ew chain/shields.
The only money I have found in smithing lately has been PoP Armors, and GoD weapons. Of course the GoD weapon market is dying fast.

Can you please explain it more in details, I lost you there at the *modified 252 skill* you meant to say unmodified 252? I got even more confused when you mentioned this *after that the belt has the same effectiveness as a geerlok* what makes the belt to have the same effectiveness as a geerlok?

Does it cost any plats? coz from the looks of it, it's like a freebie type of skills up. Either ways i'm gonna check it up and try it.
Kheera, thanks for the valuable tips and i appreciate it. Looks like i have to get a group to get that belt.
Troodon, some info on me, I love to do LDoNs that's why I realized it's the perfect path for me. As you mentioned you not only get the tempers but you get exp, loots and adventure points versus farming for shadowscream. I have timed my typical farming for shadowscream ingredients. Takes about 2 days and i spend roughly 7 to 8 hrs per day to get 200 swirling shadows and 100 of Shrieking and Wailing substances which able me to do 100 combines of shadowscream armor. So, if you calculate it, I can do an average of 30 mins per normal LDoN adventure which comes out of roughly 6 adventure per day in between breaks and rest. I'm just gonna say i will get like 12 goblin bones per adv so that equates 144 bones in two days which means roughly 140ish combines. Definately the best path for me in where you get alot of benefits.
