  • Easiest way from 188+ to 250

I was thinking about his today and wanted to know if this sounded right.
Average price on Distilled mana vial is about 300pp on CT.(pretty sure on price but could be wrong)
I dont know if anyone else has noticed but the drop rate on tae ew blood has gone up quite a bit. So would the most cost effective with speed be to skill up on tae ew chain armour?
    3 distilled mana vials 1k 30=10k
60 tae ew blood vials take about 2 days to farm at most with a good dou.
    banded molds cheap
    sheet of metal cheap.
So out of 30 combines if you are successfull on 1 piece you have cut your price in half if you can make 2 pieces you have your money back.Assuming you can sell each piece in bazaar for 4-5k which seems to be cheap on CT. /rinse repeat.
Just rambling but it sounds good.

If you can farm the bloods that fast, it could work. Would be especially good if you can still get XP doing it.

If you get an enchanter friend to make the vials, you can save a bit of money as they only cost about ~212 plat or so to make.

Just try not to flood the market with the same piece.

Going from 188 to 250 will probably take around 1300 combines (little bit worse than 1 in 20), assuming that you don't hit a bad hell level.

1300 combines*(2days/30 combines)=~87 days farming. If one of your duo can PBAoE, Hollowshade Moor might be significantly faster. Or as your success rate increases, you can start doing some sickles or BD cultural.

I usually dont have a problem douing. I just box a 62 war and a 52 cleric, botth get some exp but nothing great. Can do most the Cy. Average about 2-3 bloods per cycle.

If you have the pp to burn there are stacks off tae ew blood for sale now in bazaar on CT.
Might also consider farming saphires in Seb. Cleric would still get exp but a time sink, but lots cheaper if ya have to go that way.

Lexore, I box a 60 war and 52 cleric, as well - thanks for the heads up. my smith is my cleric (dark elf type), and I get really sick of farming EoS for the **** cultural temper
I'll give this a shot now - CT is bound to have some fun places, and more traffic (for support and better groups) now that the level changes have gone in.

I dunno... 60 blood is 30 attempts. I know for sure that I can farm 30 attempts worth of wailing/shrieking/swirling much much faster than in 2 days. So, if your goal is pure skill, SS is easier.

However, CT mobs will give exp up to 65 (and ZEM is good), their junk weapons sell for 20pp each. They often drop advanced research items, some of which are for rare spells and sell at a premium. Finally, if you get a named, you can score big (like that 32% haste monk sash off frenzied in TR).

I've been fighting in CT a lot lately. What is your duo?

CT mobs are lvl 53+, EVERYTHING summons. Triple 200+, and FAST. There are lots of casters, especially shaman-style, and they like to haste all other mobs. Tanking these unslowed all the way can be exhausting. They are all in small groups - so some sort of CC is a must - either mez or pacify. Get you DR/PR real high - the casters are very fond of poison/disease AE. I see Torrent of Poison (AE rain, 3 waves of 540hp) on a regular basis. Procelytes proc Bane of Thule: an AE that slows by ~40%, does 70dmg a tick. Very hard to resist, but Cure Disease removes it.

If your in a guild capable of either ssra for XTC or VT for bob the blob get yourself a 15% mod hammer and or gaunts. If your a large race then kill the lords in sseru for a 10% belt. From this with the 15% mod, take your skill to 188 with FS then do mistletoe cutting sickles to 192. From 192-212 do etherial rings as your skill will be above trivial required. Then from 212 you can do various combines to get to 218. 218+15% = 250 modified. Cost me about 10k to get 188-192 but only 3k from 192-212 from just xping in BoT and collecting bricks of ee. Or you can fry your brain doing SC armor or black acryla..personally id rather cut my own arm off than do that

Tae Ew blood seems to be pretty much random off any lizard. People who do not have the force to push deeper in stay at zone-in and pull the courtyard. Personally, I dislike courtyard - frequent trains. We usually go to Throne Room, Maze, or 4C. Avatar pyramid good too. If you go to maze, make sure noone is doing slime ring, or you'll get blasted by Acidic's AE, and it's NASTY. But in maze, you can farm lizards and spiders, have a chance at getting Toxi and his tasty axe, and if you have the strength, can cycle the gnome quest every 2 hours or so.

Well, those farming days would be long with a duo.

I've been lucky enough to get four tae ew blood drops in a row once. On the other hand, I've gotten none for almost an hour before, with a full group of 65's. That's pretty darn are...but no more rare than four in a row, I'm sure.

He won't be doing the TR with a 62 warrior and 52 cleric, so forget that loot. He could get a tae ew hammer of aggression by camping the zoneline though. Sold one for 1900 yesterday, and got it by camping the zoneline.

I don't know what the price of tae ew blood vials is on your server, but consuming that many bloods is very costly. On my server, bloods at a realistic price go from 1900 to 2200. If you could get 60 bloods and sell them, you'd be about 120k ahead. That would buy very roughly 350 combines of mistletoe sickles. You'd have far more combines that way than just a lousy 30 combines. And you'd probably get 17 or 18 sickles out of it to sell, cutting your cost a fraction.

Anyway, the general idea is that those bloods have real cost. Consuming them instead of selling them is in NO way shape or form FREE. You lose the opportunity to sell each one you lose in a combine. And at low skill, you will lose nearly all of them. I don't want to repeat that, but hope it sinks in thoroughly. You are going to be flushing a ton of money down the drain to do this unless tae ew vials go for almost nothing on your server.

Instead, think about selling those vials and/or holding some of them until your skill is high enough to make you some cash, when your smithing is higher.

To further clarify -- at 244 smithing(well over the max smithing with geerlok) I failed a tae ew tunic and a tae ew shield as my first two combines yesterday. That was a component cost(considering what I could sell the components for) of 3 bloods plus an iksar blood plus a distilled mana plus assorted lesser bloods for the shield temper, for a total (opportunity) cost to me of about 7000pp. Right down the drain. Now I am going to have to sell a number of tae ew items merely to break even on my cost of making them all.

And I will. As a matter of fact, I have already. BUT...the monetary cost was very real even at max smithing. I like my 7k at least as much as the next guy, believe me.

For you, at your skill...you're going to be treating money like toilet paper if you try to skill up on the stuff. Unless you have no respect for it all or a very skewed idea of economics, I'd strongly suggest you simply do shadowscream and pay NO money or even mistletoe sickles with profits from selling bloods(or maybe camping Veksar?).

Using tae ew to skill up on is one of those ideas I love, because it keeps people with simple minds from flooding the markets with their bloods -- which keeps the prices for my tae ew stuff higher. I'm not scared of your tunics/legs/shields whatsoever. I can and will make them as cheap as or cheaper than you or anyone can. And I will make them at cost or even less if anyone tries to be a marketplace jerk. But all those bloods flooding the market...ugh. That will REALLY give people an opportunity to drive my prices down to the floor and wreck the market.

                  Worth considering.

I dont know about your server but the market on CT is all ready running down the drain on tae ew bloods. 1500pp max if ya leave mule on for a week to sell. It drops way to much and alot of 50+ players are getting groups to sell it in bazaar for the 1k-1.5k. Did a search yesterday and over 40 vials for sell. Anyway was just a suggestion to break from the same old routine of Shadow Scream and Acrylic(spell).

Anyway the best place I found to farm it is the Cy kind of boring but if your douing with your cleric pick up a Wave crasher or some kind of slow procing weapon. helps alot if your cleric isnt tweaked. Also recommed that you park your cleric in corner near zone and you fight in other corner so he is out of ae range, also have him pacify will help with adds. I have only been resisted once and just zoned.

who ever said they can't farm 30 attemps worth of shriek, howling, shadow in a night is doing something wrong.

grab a wizard or driud, grab a tank. tank runs around the islands grabbing EVERYTHING. brings it all back to the caster, the castter then drops PBAE and kills them all... by the time your done looting the tank is back with round 2.

i can collect 100 shrieks/wailing easily in about 2 hours for each.

then i take my SK and duo with him as he chews through the shadows in twilight. you could probalby do the PBAE thing there as well, but it's just a bit more dangerous due to the lifetaps. in a single KEI (about 4 hours) of grinding there i made enough shadow's to do 40 shadowscream attempts

                      think smart, get S-mart

Don't you need iskar blood to make the tempers for the Tae Ew stuff. If so you have add in the farming of those bloods to your 2 day Tae Ew blood farming also.

There's 2 tempers. One takes 2 blood and a mana, the other takes a blood and a scale temper (iksar, sarnak, frog blood and bloodwater).
