Hmm
Hmm, I have yet to hear you make a constructive suggestion Kiz, are any tradeskills worth doing? If so why? If you have nothing positive to say on these questions I must consider you as trolling.
I use the term “vocational smiths” advisedly, as differentiating from PL smiths who just did it for the Grimel Quest etc and who reactivate only if Phat Lewt is in the offing. Most trades people do trades as an alternative means of game play ie “vocational” and of course they like to progress their characters through it.
“if the upgrade is worth having a casual smith won't be able to get the parts. Because of Aid Grimel, smithing is a commodity service. There's no secret handshake for "real smiths" as opposed to "evil baby eaters from uberguilds" - a 250 smith is a 250 smith.” - Kiz
You are confusing smithing level with experience level. You can be a very active, rather than “casual” smith, but only level 40. Your definition of “casual” is presumably “not Uber exp level”. The level of interest on enjoyment gained from trades is very different for a vocational smith, than one who simply PL’d it with vast amounts of lewt in 2 weeks. An Uber guild smith (when not eating babies
) may be, by definition, casual, as he only did it for one reason and rarely does any more trades.
You still haven’t said why smithing cant be part of a general equipment upgrade for mellee’s?? How is a dropped item different than an identical smithed one in terms of supply?
If we have an oversupply of uber guild smiths, it shouldn’t matter too much anyway, they will have all the phat lewt from uber raids and therefore smithing upgrades wont be attractive to them. Beyond that making supply of components lower than Tae Ew blud and success rates more like BD should give any upgrades a longer lifespan. If you can then upgrade BD and current weapons still further/make no drop etc, that should also mop up a good deal of what is floating around.
