troll on the lose...aaaarrrggghhhhhh

So here goes...im now a troll Shadowknight...i was standing in bazaar and i looked at this awesome armor called fulvous darkscale armor(or something similar) used by ogres and trolls...so now i thought that instead of paynig some guy all my cash for one of the items i might as well get to smith it myself...so i startet on this long journey to become a GM smith...and now at 140 in smiting i realize that trolls cant make that stupid armor anyway....what exactly can trolls smith that would make it worthwhile to take it to GM lvl?? i feel like i have wasted both time and money atm...and i could kick the nearest ogre smith if i find one...

any suggestions on what to do now? what armor should i smith? or is there any weapons i should create instead?

i need some inspiration...so i wont go insane

Nothing, you have, please do so.

You might be able to make tae ew chain, or maybe some PoP armours, but an ogre can too, and they can also make cultural.

You are able to improve weapons and shields for anyone or a select few to use. While you may not be able to make a 51ac BP you can make some spiffy weapons.

I'm currently on my way to becoming a troll GM smith. Something about taking the old 1st generation EQ weapons and making them useful again just appeals to me.

As far as I know I'll be the only one on my server actually making them, and for that matter quite possibly the only smith capable of making weapons and non-armor items that people will actually want to buy.

Plus, "darkly pulsing orb" just sounds so...evil. =)

As an ogre, I'm similarly pretty miffed that I can't make the best ogre armor in the game, the Fierce Heraldic. At least I can make some, but...who's going to buy ogre armor from an ogre(!!) if you can get better from a human(!!)?

Cultural stuff is neat when it works, but can make you feel screwed, too.

If they expanded troll cultural, I think it wold be ok. Throw velious, and low-end planes of power weapons in there, too.

As a beastlord, I would *love* some smithed hand to hand weapons. Black Acrylia, refit Polished Steel Ulaks, just something Hand to hand selection is pretty weak-and smithing would be a good way to remedy this.

The Honed Blade of Ykesha sells pretty well, both Imbued & Non-Imbued versions.

The Reshapen Sharkbone Warhammer sells fairly well, the Falchion sells much better... I don't know why. :roll:

The Darkly Pulsing Orb & Sceptre of the Observers both sell well... even better if you can take special orders for the Inny & Cazic Imbued versions.

I know all this because I was the agent for the only Troll Smith on Xegony... Of course, I haven't seen him around for quite awhile.

I'm a troll GM smith on AB and the weapons I make don't sell at all well there are so many good weapons out there it is cheaper to buy dropped stuff. I suppose its a bit like cultural armour getting a bit outdated now
but it's just that the weapons went earlier.
I do sell the darkly pulsing orbs if I can be bothered to log on my froggy alt to spend a couple of hours in Innothule looking for groundspawn.
I have to compete on Tae Ew and sickles to make money, that any other smith can make, but it nice to know I am quite unique never seen any other troll stuff for sale in the bazaar.
