  • velium armor for 8th shawl

    Basic question

Does it matter which mold one uses for the velium armor - the readme calles it a 'plate mold' for each piece, though in the past I have usually used 'small plate mold' for anything that called for such as they are cheaper. The other plate molds I am finding are 'full plate mold'. Just wondering if it makes any difference.

    Thanks

The recipe is <b>exact</b>: You have to use a <b>Plate Mold</b>. Not a Small Plate Mold, not a Large Plate Mold, not a Full Plate Mold. <img src=http://www.boomspeed.com/sinuuyanea/foxchaosleep.gif alt="Cant make substitutions for recipes...">

Go to the bazaar, buy from the human merchant that sells molds. (Between the dorf and barbarian). He sells what you need.
Thats the easiest way to know you are getting the right molds for the 8th shawl armor.

I went from 154 to 182 blacksmithing in about 220 leather padding.

I made all of my Velium Armor without failure at 182 + Geerlok (191).

Paldor, wouldn't seem so bad (thinking about 200+ pelts, threads, pads) but for the fact at the same time I'm doing mine my in game wife is too...
(((well... wouldn't be doing it at all but for the fact she's a cleric and desperately in need of the mana regen / ext duration)))

If it makes it any easier on ya.....do shadeling silk thread and LQ hopper hides. I scratched my eyes out when I saw how much faster it was to make Leather Paddings based off those than farming Ferrott and Stonebrunt.

Lind, FYI best place considered now for spiderling silks is now Innothule newb area. Second, you can use normal silk thread with rockhopper hides, dont need to use shade;ing silk thread.

Where is the best place for rockhopper hides? Also, is there a good place for a 15 cleric/warrior combo to farm them?

small rockhoppers in shadeweavers thicket drop quality rockhopper hides(no superb or flawless but lq mq and hq). It is a newbie zone so the mobs are real low level.
