First: Go http://www.eqtraders.com/recipes.htm and peruse the smithing links

Second: Read the posts in this forum.

All the information you need to know can be found in those places

0-188 is not too bad, anything beyond that and it gets tough.

      http://www.eqtraders.com/learn/learn_smithing.htm

Check the guides mentioned in the link, and the smithing forum is good to clear up any questions the guides leave unanswered.

Also, check out the guide in the new section for Tradeskill Guides. I'm really impressed with the new Economical Smith guide there.

          Agreed.

The Economical smithing guide is awesome! You can find it probably on page 2 here, if it hasn't been bumped up to page one already.

If you can find the time to sit down and read through the Economical Smith I think you’ll find that most if not all of your smithing questions will be answered. What the guide does is explain what items you should make for skill gain. And as the title says, the guide does so with “the bottom line” in mind. Smithing is not a cheap skill to learn, but the guide will help you gain skill as cheaply as possible.

Granted, the Economical Smith is more complicated than just looking at an Excel spreadsheet, but that’s because everything is being explained to you. The guide is broken down into skill rangers and it has a table of contents. So if you’ve already gained a certain level of skill you can jump right to the skill level you need to learn about.

In my opinion you won’t find a better guide anywhere on the net.
