Merchant sold?!?!?!? where / how much (if you know)?

Thank you in advance. Been stearing clear of using these as I was not too happy with making them, but if merchant sold, I'll be taking a u-turn.

Sold in Thurg, at the merchant between Icewell Keep and the offshoot of merchants in the back. He's on the outer side of the loop in the back. I think the price was around 26p.

26pp 5gp minimum price. Have always been sold in Thurgadin, since they were put ingame which, btw, was not on day 1 of Velious

You can also make CVTs for 10-12pp each but it is very tedious.

much cheaper tho to skill up brewing and make them yourself.

fishing grub + water, triv 122; took me exactly 20 stacks plus 1 grub with 200 wis.

then do something to get brewing to the 140s, or if you so desire go ahead and get the 156 so the coldain heater will be trivial.

get brown algae from the otter vendors in Cobalt Scar; find a nice druid to lev you, invis you, and port you, then head over the cliff and to the right from the port in. Find the otter standing in front of the brew barrel.

allspice is an alchemy supply, 2p and change for one, something like 42p for a stack. >_< oh well.

brown algae + allspice + flask water + shotglass = coldain heater, triv 156.

If you have pok, the dark elf rogues in the room right next to the barbarian alchemy vendors on the west wall of pok sell Scent of Marr, and the dark elf down the stairs from them sells the solvent. One of them carries a mortar and pestle. one solvent + one marr = celestial essense. you'll need a lot of those.

coldain heater + 4 CE = coldain velium temper. total price, around 11-12p with best faction, not including failures.

and if you really have the patience, make em and sell for 20p in bazaar. ^_^ those not wanting to run to thurg and not wanting to make for self will still get them cheaper than in thurg, and you make nice profit.

Yup yup, found em on the vendor, /happy dance. Have no patience for the click click click of making them, I do enough of that elsewhere. I'll spend the 26.5 and move along happily.

Thank you for all your help!!!!

I usually buy them in the bazaar. A couple guys sell them for between 20 and 25pp each, and typically there are hundreds for sale.

I don't do the clicking, or the run to thurg.

In fact those who don't mind a click workout can earn real good plat. I once tried it - made several stacks of tempers, at 10pp each, and sold on bazaar at 20pp each. Sold out real fast, making 200pp a stack. But it is indeed too much tedious clicking. I don't make them for sale anymore, but for personal use, I always brew them myself - have several stacks of brown algae stashed, rest available in PoK. Guildies also come to me for tempers, and since celestial essence is a no-fail combine, they make it themselves - so I need to do only 2 combines per temper.

The serious wrist-hurt for these is the Celestial Essences.

I suggest you make the heaters, then buy the CEs in Bazaar for 3pp each.. Which is still cheeper then buying the velium tempers.

I think I still have 5 stacks of Heaters in my bank due to my unwillingness to make CEs.. heh.

Brown algae was being sold in PoK at the set of buildings where the two vendors stand in booths close together (where the brewing barrels are). As you face the vendors, look to your left and you will see a door. Inside is the vendor that was selling it. I tried buying the brown algae several time to see if someone didn't just sell it to him. Brought 2 stacks each time. Now you can kill the otters, lol Good Luck

I think that the merchant you described is Klen Ironstove and he does not sell any Othmir delicacies -- I just checked. If you can confirm that a vendor in PoK is selling brown algae then please post details. I know a lot of smiths who would love to not go to cobalt scar.
