Ok, it's a bit off topic, but it's a funny tale of the perils of smithing.
I'm trying to farm Shrieking Substance in Hollowshade at the moment, but the Owlbears keep getting the Southern camp and not giving it up. The wolves aren't attacking at all, so in the end I reset the war in the hope the wolves would start attacking. The owlbears attacked the Grimlings, so I helped them win, but then the owlbears kept attacking the wolves, over and over. I killed the attackers each time, but the defenders hadn't despawned by the time the next attack started, so I thought I would see if I could get into the Sonic cave and kill the named in there.
I avoided the defenders and attacked the first guardian at the cave mouth, just as it was about to die, I was summoned by a defender (not sure why, as I'm sure I hadn't aggroed it). Then all hell broke loose. All 3 defenders started on me, the other guardian and about 3 other adds, who were soon joined by more wolves leaving or returning to the cave.
I put a shout out for help at the cave, and decided to run, which turned out to be a stroke of genius that saved my life. I knew I was going to be summoned, but I thought I might buy some time if someone was going to rescue me. I ran towards the GF zone, knowing I couldn't make it, then got summoned back to the defenders. Of course, the pack had followed me, but were now out of range. I threw on my regen breastplate and ran in the opposite direction, until I was summoned again. The pack hadn't quite got back to the cave, so I ran off to the South again.
I was repeatedly summoned, changing direction to avoid the chasing pack, and watching my hp hover around the 30% mark, gradually going down, checking who was in the zone and crying for someone to help this sorry ogre. I figured out I could keep up this mindless running and summoning for about 10 minutes before I succumbed, when suddenly, the owlbears decided to attack again! I thought this was a good thing, as they might eventually get aggro off me, but no, even better: the attack caused the defenders to respawn! As soon as I realised that I wasn't being summoned, I hightailed it for Grimling Forest, not looking back at the mother of all wolf trains.
