Swirling Shadow nerfed? Prolly not.

I've been intermitently camping the shadows in Twilight for the past couple of days. After killing more than 50, I have exactly 7 SSs.

Has anyone else had a similar experience since the last patch, or have I just hit and incredibly lousy run?

i've also noticed a slightly reduced drop rate last time i was there, but it was only for about 20 kills, which "generally" would net me about 5-10 SSs. i came out with 2 (from 2 single drops). possibly a bad run for both of us, but you never know. my only guess is they might have changed the drop rate to reflect the lvl of the mob. maybe the akhevans drop more SSs now? who knows.

Noticed it too, off the lesser shades last night. Though it didn't last.

First 50 shades I killed wield 2 swirling shadows. I was about to give up but then the next 40 or so I killed dropped about a dozen after that.

Just seemed to be a streak of bad luck.

Though last night I got about twice as many wailing substances as I normally do in a night. They were dropping like crazy. About 3 out of every 5 owlbears were dropping one.

I was thinking the same thing, that they had nerfed the drop rate on swirling shadows.

I have not logged a session on killing lesser shades recently but I plan to now. I used to be getting 1 shadow in about 8 kills but now it seems much worse. Yesterday I had a bad streak of only getting 4 shadows in a solid hour of farming.

I was suspected a stealth nerf but this morning I got 20 in 1 hour.

I certainly hope they haven't. I'm at 218 and have tried skilling up on cultural and acrylia, but it just hurts the pocket book too much. SS is the only viable skillup path for me and the amount of time camping the supplies is painful enough already.

Indeed. The multiple drops needed for shadowscream stuff take so incredibly long to camp in quantity that nerfing the drop rates of the swirling shadow would make shadowscream almost valueless as a path to skill up.

I seem to always get a stack per hour invested. Its pretty consistant for me 8)

I get 20 or so per hour too, equal to 10 combines. Not counting the substances, of course. Shadowscream is slow enough as it is.
