  • Stats not coded for 255+ ?

    Hiyas,
Been exping lately since my last combine sessions and now have a base wis of 310. So figuring this would be better for smithing i decided to give a few combines a go. And went 3 for 13. Failed two hurricane armors, and then 2 imbued folded mithril sheets, as well as 6 straight fails making some blessed full mithril shoulders. Since the last patch have they not coded for stats higher then 255 yet again?!
All it did was annoy me, hey can you get into trouble using profanity in feedback?
Anyone else noticing similar difficulties since the last patch?

    Stats don't affect successes.
    They only affect skill-up chances.
So a character with 250 skill in smithing that has a strength of 1 (maybe he got hit with a really nasty weaken spell, and it hasn't worn off yet?) will have the exact same chance of success as a character with 250 skill and a strength of 255.

      Stats beyond 255

All that aside, do those people with the mega stats actually notice a difference in skill ups? This is something that would be very hard to be certain of because of te RNG but personally I've not ever noticed a difference in skillups with my prim stat boosted to PoP levels.

For me, it absolutely does make a difference. I did majority of my skill ups with 255 wisdom in the past. Now I have 310 wisdom I do skill up a bit faster than with 255 wisdom. That is if you look at the overall average of combines. I find that I still get hell levels like I did before but in the past the hell levels would last much longer.

Example. From 195 to 200 smithing, I was at 255-265 wisdom range. It took me average of about 1.5 -2 stacks of combines per point. This is NOT including my hell level at 199 which took me over 60 combines to get to 200. With 310 wisdom, I was able to take my smithing from 200 to 203 in 1.5 stacks of shadowscream. It just maybe coincident but from what I observed taking 4 tradeskills to 250 (and one almost there at 246), overall I am getting more skills per combines and smaller hell levels at 310 wisdom than before.

Stats definitely effect skill up rate but when RNG strikes, no matter how high your stats is, you still won't get the point that you need.

I just recently went through 117 combines of shadowscream + mistletoe cutting sickles on my road from 200 to 201. 117 combines for 1 skill with 355 wis. Can you say ouch?

I don't think Tausha's stats tell us very much, since I was getting 1 skillup in 8 attempts from 188 to 200 with 230<STR<255, doing Shadowscream. It still just comes down to the RNG.

                Stats working

Well Like I said, this was going to come by feel not by hard imperical fact. Are people in general Feeling like they make a difference?
I'll subscribe to any myth, hocuspokus, or mumbojumbo that might affect a skill up so ofcorse I max my skill out on each attempt but I'm just cureious if there are others that feel thats a waste of time.
