  • Crafted Armor for the under 51 crowd.

Almost everytime it comes up in conversation about which armor is worth wearing, people rave about Tae Ew. I agree that it looks great but I cant wear the frelling stuff! I'm only level 44 and my other toons are lower. Could somebody make some recommendations about which lower level crafted armors are worth wearing? I would just be mortified to show up to a raid wearing the wrong armor .

That pretty much encompasses all of the blue diamond cultural armors, which all have high AC, and a recommended level of 45 (not required). It can be worn at any level, and your char will "grow into it"

Well for the under 51 crowd you have basically 2 choices, your races cultural or Acrylia Chain. You did not post your race so I am now sure how good those items would be for a shaman. Also looking at the Acrylia chain it has very little wis on it.

For a Shaman untill 51 there are Not alot of good smithed armors out there.

Example Barb Tribunal armor offers you 2 wis each piece. Same with the Ogre CT armor.

        That is simply not true.

As well as the Imbued Northman Armor (which only has +2 wis per piece) there is Artificers Chain armor.
This armor is pretty good with each piece having at least +5 wis and +30 hp/mana. Some are +10 wis or +40/+40.
        Except boots.

Here is a link to the stats http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/smithing_stats_barbarian.htm

I would avoid the imbued northman as your gear is superior to it.
Artificers Chain prices typically range from 5kpp (bracers) to 15kpp (legs, cloak,BP). BUT you may find a nice barbarian smith who will give you credit for Temper ingrediants/padding (which you can pharm at your level) or work some other deal out.

However: You will note that Tae Ew Chain BP is superior to Artificers and its a toss-up wheither you get Tae Ew Legs or Artificiers legs as both are pretty decent. Keep in mind the closer you get to level 60 the more you will want a buttload of +HP's rather than a ton of +Wisdom.

I also disagree that there is not alot of good smithed shaman armour below 51. Although it doesn't help our barbarian friend Crimson Darksplint is by no means bad armour, a full set comes with 192 AC, 75 WIS, 30 STA, 15 DEX, 5 AGI, 420 hp and 420 mana.

I'm gradually putting a full set on my 29 ogre shaman. He should grow into it fairly quickly.

I had asked the question not just for my own benefit but for others of any class or race. Based on raw stats, the imbued field plate line looks like it would be good for plate classes with superior stats to all other old cultural. But since I haven't worn any I have no real clue. And I don't know at what level they become obsolete.

Smithed armor for the under 51 crowd is what old cultural is for.
