...but scorned and abhorrent elements drop these right at the zone-in from Gulf of Gunthak to the Crypt of Nadox.

Found this out while hunting for some Magma Scarred Boots-we got 2 stones in 12 kills (and one magical ash,use unknown).

Killed just 2 of these that agroed on me and they both dropped L Rocks so drop rate might be quite good.

A suggestion before you fight them ( about 8 spawns). Get some fire resistant gear as some of the spawns are in the lava and it hits for 42 damage per tick if you are naked - 20 with around 200 FR.

For the faint of heart,there's three of them that show up right near the zoneline. Not resistant to much of anything I chucked at them-they Darknessed,Heat Blooded,etc. fine and the wizardress with me was landing Conflagrations just fine.

You could likely root-and-rot em too...they aren't social,far as I can tell. The boots are a nice bonus,too.

Had no idea more were in the lava-have to take a swim sometime. Good thing I didn't try to get in too far.

Drop rate isn't that good - I think you were lucky. I spent half a level soloing there with my shaman and got I think 8 lava rocks. I'm guessing about 1/8-10 drop them.

There are three at zone in and one not very far out. Didn't realize there are four more. I usually solo self buffed only so I can only handle the four anyway but next time I happen to have KEI I'll have to try all eight.

At 51 I tried soloing one of these for grins, and they were a sight harder than advertised; they have about 5-6k hp, and have reasonably good MR, more than the standard Gunthak or Dulak mob (a number of my retributions were partially resisted, one or two fully). They do single pull nicely when hit with a ranged attack of some kind, though, like most LoY mobs. Just a fair warning.
