well i am sure you all know this..as not much gets by the power trade skillers.

I have recently found new love in tradeskills and am workin on them vigourously, especially for my Shawl quest.

anyway...some time ago i changed my quad location to Scarlet Desert and began to kill tro jeg on the plateau. this is an excellent quad spot for wizzies and good exp even at 60(3% AAEXP per quad). Anyway, i started getting things called windstones and for along time had no clue what they where for. and just kept selling them to vendors. i would get 3-4 a night depending how long i camped there. then i found out what they where for and now i save them!

Moreover, i was getting a stack or two PER night of something called Chunk of condensed flame....I asked in guild and they said they can be made into arrows. COOL, i thought..so i saved them and gave them to our rangers. then one day during my tradeskill frenzy i looked up smithing and HOLY MACKREL, i can combine ONE chunk of condensed flame with water and file and make arrow heads that trivail at 116....talk about EASY! and CHEAP!!!!!

so if you want to find a good camp that drops windstones and flame for Smithing....make good PP (up to 6pp per drop)...still provides okay exp..(especially AA EXP) up to lvl 60...then scarlet desert is your place.

Long have I wished for some kind of LIST... "If you loot this, forage this, pick this ground spawn up, DO NOT DESTROY/SELL to vendor!"

It's hard to convince groupmates to just let me HAVE the fine steel, as they can get 5p per piece at vendor and i never carry plat on me when xping.

There's all this stuff I want from the planes, and I know my skills are going to be too high by the time I reach 46 and can even go to POI. But the people I know who can go are too concerned with XPing to worry about a noob obsessed with her tradeskills.

I wish I could just tell people... "Give me this, sell me that, somehow, just PLZ do not destroy it!" Oh well. such is life.

and thanks for the heads up, I'll keep scarlet desert in mind. granted, it will be a loooong while before i get there. ^_^

Just like to say, even though you can go to POI at 46, I wouldn't advise it. Depending on class/equipment, 50 is a more realistic level.

I do agree with the sentiment though. I was hoping to have been able to make Crimson Darkscale armour at 45, the "recommended" level for this armour. Without an endless supply of plat however, I have to farm for Shadowscream, which was extremely inefficient until I hit 51.

Don't feel too bad, everyone probably has a story about the useless looking thing they sold to a vendor that turned out to be valuable.

A few months ago I got some iksar blood while doing the Jail in OS, sold it in the Bazaar for 5pp each then realized it could be used for Tae Ew smithing.... d'oh :x
