  • Question for HIE smiths and PoG

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, as I did a search and it didn't come up with the results I was looking for.

My guild is at a stage where we can kill Tunare, but I don't want to ruin my faction for the sole reason of a fear that I won't have full access to the Koada'Dal forge. Are my fears justified or not?

I'm curious if any other HIE cultural smiths out there have taken the plunge, and if so, could possibly share their experiences. I want to be able to bank, and be able to buy bricks of mithril and molds. I'm also curious if there are any other difficulties in accessing the forge. Would invis be needed to get past the guards?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

I believe the only faction it completely ruins is the Cleric guild. You won't be able to use your nice faithstone, since it puts you in aggro range of the Cleric guildmaster, but I think the Koada'Dal forge is out of his range.

Don't know for certain though, since I'd never try killing Tunare (ok, my smith is only level 40 anyway, hehe)

From what I understand you can still use your faith stone - as long as you are prepared to hit the ground running. People say they manage to get to zone without much of a problem. You will be KOS but...just don't go afk while gating.

I have killed Tunare many times and I am a 250 high elf smith.

I don't go near the cleric guild, and I stay away from the chick near the water (Elia the Pure?)

Other than that, I get around fine between the bank, forge, mithril merchant, brew barrel. It's not a problem.

getting non kos to your cleric guild shouldn't really be that hard in all honestly

Pandos (the bottomless muffin pit) still raises faction. Strategy for turning in while kos is as follows. Your a cleric so i assume you can pacify him (reduces his aggro range to nadda). Then open up tradewindow and have someone invis you (hide works for races that can do this). Con him make sure he is indifferent and hit trade and watch the faction hits role in. (if you have an alt bard this can be really easy)

Repeat as neccessary (note faction goes from -2000 to +2000 faction points from max kos to max warmly. Each muffin is 1 faction points so you have to do approximate 1000 rounds of turnins to reach max faction again. Used to be able to turn in 4 sets of 4 but this was nerfed)

And a note for de's. This is a way to raise faction with alot of the elves without ruining indigo brotherhood faction (although it iwll kill your orc faction)

If you want to get non kos to the wood elf guards just kill the aqua goblins in oot. As for the other factions im not sure of an easy way. Handing in shackle keys to free the slaves gives a small hit to indigo brotherhood which is easily counterable (i used to be able to do this before velious because my crushbone faction was bottomed so i only got the "Crushbone faction got worse" message but my faction immunity in crushbone got nerfed in a patch.

Then i went to POG and got lots of elven blood. And well you can guess the rest :P

It's my understanding while you can fix some Felwithe factions, you can never fix a Tunare faction hit. Of course I could be wrong.

But, I actually completed the paladin epic AFTER killing Tunare, and had to do the muffin quest (and the batwing quest before that - the muffin guy wouldn't even talk to me at first). After completing those quests and raising that faction high enough to finish the epic, I was still kos to the other factions.

Actually, I'm a Paladin and my only fear was having difficulty accessing the Koada'Dal Forge. But it looks like my fears were unfounded.

Thanks again for the replies everyone!

Just a little side comment: a few of the guards are paladins. The paladin guards are on the cleric of tunare faction as well. Be careful.
