Gauntlets of Dark Embers

I'm sure that somewhere in this website there is a spot that talks about skill modifiers but darned if I can find it. I've done a search based on the name of the gloves and I got a lot of messages that don't relate to these gloves.

2 questions. In The High-Level Character's Guide to Smithing it says

Addendum: For those with 15% Modifiying Items

So you've helped kill the Creator in Ssra and have been awarded the Hammer of the Ironfrost. Or you've hunted in Vex Thal and got the Gauntlets of Dark Embers.

Yet on Alla Khazam it says these gloves are 5% modifiers. So which is it 5 or 15%? Also, there seems to be some debate about whether modifiers stack.

I would appreciate any answers. Wish I could navigate my way to them myself.

They're 15%, skill mods don't stack, and the skill mods can be counted in odd ways so if you're doing a combine only equip the skill mod you want to be used so as to not confuse the game.

The Gloves are +15%. At least the ones I saw drop yesterday were.

Modifiers dont stack.

I think this info is in the FAQ somewhere. You might want to take a look at it, its got all kinds of useful stuff in it.

It was the FAQ file that had a link to Alla Khazam for the gloves and they have a picture showing 5% and list the stat as 5%.

The very first user submitted message below the item info says that the Gauntlets have been upgraded, since the picture was taken. It's a shame that Magelo is down as I write this reply, otherwise I could have added the current data on that item here.

Modifiers don't stack. Check safehouse, they did a study.

I can personally verify that the gloves are 15%. Had a pair for a while unfortunately i was already 250 skill in smithing when I got em.

Thanks, the point still remains that the advanced guide has a link to Alla Khazam and Alla Khazam is wrong.
