Re-logging for better results?

I have heard that the success and skillup generator are usually kinder if you re-log every 10 combines or so. Anyone know of this? Fact or urban legend?

This is not sarcasm.

I went through a really bad streak once that cost me my life savings and several weeks of non-stop component farming. One day, well into the streak, I decided to go through 60 combines to end my misery and get a freakin' skillup. Well, 50 combines in and still no "You have become better at Blacksmithing! (xxx)." I even changed the text 3 times to neon colors to make sure I didn't miss it when it happened.

I was desperate. I zoned out, fully buffed myself (cleric buffs), force fed myself with everything imaginable, and stomped 3 times on the ground along with "Please please please give me a skillup." These words I spoke softly so my wife didn't get concerned. Then I sat down, filled the forge
in a completely uncomfortable order and pressed the button of death...

I got a skillup! I performed the stomp/prayer routine again, and I got another skillup! I felt at this point that I had delved into some secret ancient ritual that was not meant to be recited. That a contract had been signed in blood. I was creeping myself out.

Some people camp, some zone, some sit, some stomp. There are many theories, but I believe it all comes down to coincidence. Sadly, my stomp/prayer routine never worked again after that night.

I agree. There is no rhyme or reason when it comes to skilling up. There are some general rules of thumb, like skills tend to come faster from 1 to 50 then they will from 201 to 250, but most theories and rituals are just a cross between wishful thinking and desperation. The most you can really do is raise your main trade skill stat as high as you can and hope for the best.
