The problem

Well, we farm these things on our own (enchanter, druid / cleric 2 boxed... charmed pet, lots of running around like retards). And a whole day might net 1 metallic substance. I don't know if that was intended but it makes the plate "not worth it" at all. In the same amount of time we will get 3 to 5 solidified magma for incense burners, at 125k each we can just buy an ornate breastplate for 300 k or something and have money left over. :roll:

In a day of farming we can get enough sap to make a whole set of firestrand. The drop rates on this smithing stuff need to be upped ALOT to being it more in line with the tailored pieces.

Off topic I know but which spiders are you killing for the saps? So far it seems to be extremely rare off the spiders near zone in.

Since your camping the magma men the only place off hand I know of where they spawn is back by all the named on the way to the fennin event. How bad are those spiders back there? I've root soloed the ones near zone but since they seem to be fairly poison resistant even when debuffed it makes it kinda rough being a shaman. I've also duoed them with my roommate who's a warrior but i get the feeling things back there are gonna hit a bit too hard for us to do that.

I'm still amazed that people are making elemental pottered stuff, let alone selling it. If you were in my guild, I'd skin you alive and make myself a new pair of boots. But I digress.

Yeah, 5.5 tempers per plate bp attempt. And yeah, metallic substance is a royal pain in the ass. My biggest problem is trying to figure out which element and armor type yeild for maximum efficiency. Making water plate BPs for warriors, not really sure what to do with the fire tempers I have insofar. A "If you have X, Y is your best bet" table would work wonders.
