  • Fiery Temper

Currently at 121 smithing. Not the best route, but was looking at making Forged Firebrand weapons to take me into the mid-130's.

Firey Ore is not a problem as I can walk out of Sol A with a few backpacks full in just a couple hours.

The problem lies with the Imp's Blood and Essence of Fire. I hung out in Lavastorm for many hours and only ended up walking away with 1 blood and 2 essences. Not cool at all (no pun intended).

Is there a better place than LS where I can go to find Fire Elementals and Imps that drop blood? Conversely, am I wasting my time? I was looking to Firey Weapons as a cheap temporary skill-up route to the mid 130's. Are the components just too scarce for this to be viable? Does anyone even bother making these...ever?

Due to cruddy stats, nobody makes them.

But for elementals, you may want to try Twillight.

Not sure if they drop what you need, but there are TONS of elementals in twillight.

Effy in sol B will net you imp blood and essence of fire too.

      To answer your question:
I tried making them when they first came out. Total waste of time.

39 sk, avoid sol b! Go back when your 50+ sk and you might be able to hunt there.
Do what everyone else dose, skip to FS plate bracers (or do the shadowscream armor if plat is a big problem). To cut down on costs, go hunt Stonebrunt for hides (from animals) and plat (from Kobalts) and get some xp also (hey, bad xp is better than no xp when it comes to farming). Also you might get some of the drops for the new LoY tailored ribbons, and those sell well atm.

        Good luck
Tailoring, why did I ever start tailoring? *sob*

You can hunt the dogs at 35 in sol b, but for effy you would need a balanced group of mid 50s (preferably a higher puller or a good enchanter). I tried it with wife both 2 boxing (55 sk, 50 cleric and 60 druid, 51 mage) but we needed one more to make it work.

Check the druid ring vendor, she has stuff for sale sometimes.

Or try doing the deathsteel weapons instead. You might still be getting xp in nurga and droga. Lots of farming, but it is all in the same zone and fairly low level. I heard about several people doing this a while ago, but haven't seen any posts about it recently.

Worse suck that Fiery Weapons. The Mt. Death Mineral Salts sell quite well in the bazaar to people looking to improve their Chardok faction.

Imp blood is very difficult to find as imps are rare and it's a rare drop off the imps.

Both deathsteel and fiery weapons have cool names -- but they're lousy products and sell well below what they cost in terms of time.

If you are at 121, put 1 more point into embroidering needles, find some cinnamon sticks, get your brewing to 122 and make cultural needles til 132. These sell for 9.5pp each back to vendors. Then do a few ornate pieces to 146 and then do fine steel. Much much MUCH easier.

There are reasons why no one recommends those weapons as skillup items.

Well, I went to Nurga and Droga last night to grab the last few pieces I need for my cudgel quests, before they FUBAR the zone. Walked out with two stacks of deathsteel ore and salts each, as well as grinning goblin brew. Seems to me that if they don't royally screw these zones (/em holds breath), it'd be worthwhile to go farm Nurga and Droga for salts, ore, and brews, especially if you need Chardok faction. What does everyone else think? I am working on Chardok faction now, so I will definitely end up with more. Should I work my skill up with deathsteel (taking time out for cultural needles)? Or should I just sell this stuff?

When they revamped CT, they put in a lot of real good tradeskill recipes there. I wonder if Droga revamp will include a tasty upgrade to Deathsteel...

With all the killing required to gainthe necessary faction from Droga, I kept the deathsteel parts and eventually used them. The skillup rate was halfway decent when I did them, long time ago that it was. However, I would reccommend selling salts after what I went through. At 50p per on Prexus, that will buy me a single 1 sheet fine plate combine. And the ore doesnt sell too bad, like 9 gold each. Brew - AT skill

I got fed up with the fiery weapons very quickly.

Made myself a couple to use when I was low level and then ditched the idea in favour of skilling up with ornate chain. Don't forget that you also need flame agates for the tempers - which you can sell for around 7 or 8pp each - so it's a really expensive way to go.
