Just wondering if anyone else has been having worse than usual luck lately..... been trying to finish off my last skill, and bleh.... 220-245 I averaged about a skillup per 20batch of sickles..did a bit of cultural and Tae Ew in there, but still ran an overall average of about 1 skill per 20ish combines... then I hit 245.... running at 288 INT, 290 STR... and I've done 120 sickles and a few tae ew combines, nadda.... yes, I'm all too aware of RNG, bad streaks, etc... just seems a bit odd that luck changed so drasticly at 245...and also that this is all since the last patch... heck, 241-250 tailoring only took me 80 combines, skillups at 288 INT go soooo much faster than at the old 255 cap...well....til now. Success rate on sickles dropped noticably too....was running 50-60% solidly, been runnnig right about 30% since patch too.. even did one 20batch with a mere 3 successes...if my skill were lower, I'd be thinking that skillmods weren't worknig rght....but dropping to 245 effectve shouldn't drop success rate 20-30%.. /shrug...

Why yes, I have noticed this. I've also noticed a stealth nerf where every time you got a critical failure it lowered your skill.
I think Verant also snuck into my refrigerator and ate all my leftover pizza.
They hijacked my phone lines and now when I order pizza to replace the stuff they ate, I get anchovies on my pizza.
My cats have vomited small cows daily since the last patch, and there have been several plagues of locusts. I blame Verant's last patch for all this.

If someone asks what is a valid question to them, answer it, or dont. There is no need to talk down to anyone.
That said, I too have been wondering about this exact thing myself. I have made over 100 Dwarven Plate 2- and 3- sheet combine items at a skill of 214 (so they are not trivial to me) and I have not had one skill increase. I can understand a run of 40 or so with no luck, but over 100 items? At the same time I have attempted 30 Brellium Plate Bracers - and not one success. I had more luck with these at 180 skill than I am having at 214. At the same time I attempted these Brellium Bracers, a gnome I know attempted 4 BD Cultural Bracers, and was successful on 2 of the 4 attempts at a skill of 210 (tinkering)
Now, as a SERIOUS question, has anyone else noticed this happening to a particular race, or type of armor or combine? It is quite possible that the programmers did not update every line of code, or did not update a particular forges code. (I mean, if they can forget to install a forge in a zone, surely they forget to update all the code for every forge or skill check in the game)

Last weekend I did 400 combines, 200 of shadowscream, 200 of sickles (I was clicking celestial essences while I farmed, lol).
Went from 216-243 on those, or 27 skill ups, which works out to under 15 combines per skill. Think its just the RNG getting ya.
Now the question I ask myself, just how many more shadowscream components am I going to need for 243-250, cause I only want to farm one last time....

240+geerlok is max modified skill.
Why go to the pain of wasting more time pharming?
You'll get the last 7 pts of raw skill just from making stuff.
Unless you like seeing Smithing(250) after your name
Thanks to my +10% belt I'm at 250-ish mod skill. I dont think I'll be doing another 400 or more sickle combines just to get 22 skill points that wont affect whether or not I can make stuff.

Dead Horse.
People, this is a Dead Horse topic; every time a patch comes along, <b>someone</b> has to cry out "success rates were nerfed!" with no real proof. Success rates havent been "nerfed" ever; you simply had a bad run with the random number generator. We <b>ALL</b> get them; we also get good runs, too.
Remember that before you scream "nerf" again. <img src="http://www.boomspeed.com/sinuuyanea/dcpuzzle.gif" alt="Is it a nerf, or are you just a wuss?">

Why do you people not read the actual posts.
No where did the original poster use the term *nerf* - he merely asked a question. He even posted that he was aware of RNG etc etc.
If you have nothing to add to his post - dont post. You actually make yourself look stupid compared to those who ask the question.
