Borrowing/renting a +15% item?

I play on Firiona Vie. Since practically nothing there is NO-DROP, I was thinking that perhaps, once I raise my skill to 192, I might try to borrow or rent one of the +15% smithing items, and make ethereal metal rings up to 212.

I've heard that getting the ingredients is absurdly simple in comparison to other options at this level, and cruising through the 192-212 hell levels in smithing would be very, very nice.

Of course, I'd have to offer something in return... I could offer a lot of leather padding, offer to do a lot of subcombines, or something along those lines.

What do you think?

Sure - it's a viable idea. However, the issue is collateral. You'd need to probably give something as collateral, otherwise it's unlikely someone would trust you to do this - unless you know them or are in the same guild. Just a wild guess, but I'd say 100k in value would be sufficient collateral - then maybe 2k to 5k in payment.

Eesh. If I had that kind of platinum, the +15% wouldn't be that much of an issue.

How hard are the ethereal ring ingredients to get?

Basically you can brew the tempers (i beleive they are soda, 2x celestial essence and emerald tea leaves). All buyable in pok

Then you need a file (duh)

Then you need bricks of ethereal energy - You could practically count these as buyable but they are so common you really dont need to

Oh and there are only TWO 15% smithing items

One is Ironfrost off creator
Other is some guantlets that drop in VT (they have insanely good stats so i doubt someone would let you keep em for long if at all)

The tempers are a skill restricted combine with the same limitations as the rings.

Since you can't have multiple characters on FV, you would need NTCM or the services of a vrewer for the rings.

Well, either way, that's a LOT easier than making human cultural stuff or shadowscream.
