Well, after a week or so of farming, I wound up with enough subtances to make 88 SS bracer/gorget attempts. 88 attempts, for a god pounding total of 3 increases, from 200. For all the time I spent farming, and all the ungodly hours in Paludal Caverns with those **** owlbears (thx eternally grimling/wolves war) I'm not sure I can deal with it again. So whats the fastest alternative to skilling up? I don't mean most raises in the least combines, I mean what is easiest and fastest thing to gather components for? Oh yeah, I'm a Brell worshipping dwarven rogue if it matters.

Sounds like they have fixed/are fixing the Hollowshade War on Test.
Your best bet might be to wait a week or two and see if that comes through in the April 1st patch then get a caster friend (cleric/wiz/mage) to AE lots of Owlbears/Wolves.

I don't know if this is a good thing or not..... BUT as you are a dwarf you seem to have some cultural options.

I dont know what Berrilium sheets cost but it looks like you can make "imbued dwarven plate" armor that trivals > 242 for some pieces.
Seems like bracers are Trivial > 213 so they might be a good start.
NFI what the sell back or player market is for that armor, talk to a Dwarven Smith.
Also this means you need to have a friend who can imbue the Rubies (each ruby costs 131 plat each) for you.
Also dont forget that with geerlok you can get two easy Ethereal ring skill ups from 210 to 212.
MAYBE doing the 1-sheet pieces of armor (visors, collars, bracers, boots) til they trivial is ok but then MAYBE the 2-sheet pieces will cost WAY too much.
Or eventually you might make some sickles (see below) and realise you are past the break even point (220 skill? 230?).
OR....
Alternatively, IF you have deep pockets.......
Do Mistletoe Cutting sickles (at a cost of 7kpp per skill point (assuming 20 combines per skill up)) until you hit skill 210 (at which time you grab two easy skill ups on Ethereal Rings) then head back to sickles til you hit break even at around maybe 220 skill?(with geerlok).
If your sickle market on your server is busted you might need even higher skill to hit break even.
Also if you do all your low-level subcombines for the sickles to save costs, be aware that you need about 320 subcombines (or so) for each 20 sickle-attempts! (yes 320!).
Buying pre-made Celestial Essences and/or Mistletoe tempers and/or Blessed Dusts of Tunare WILL ease the wrist pain at the expense of your bank balance.
At around 200 skill you will fail ALOT (95%?) and burn a buttload of plat starting on Sickles.... but at 350-ish pp per sickle maybe imbued dwarven plate bracers/etc is a better bet (with sell back included maybe).

No idea how hard they are to make or pharm the bits for!
I'd say find a dwarven smith somewhere on your server or elsewhere and talk to them.
Shadowscream may end up being the only "affordable" (though slow) option for you. It was for me til I could make enough sickles (on average) to offset making them for skill-ups.Comment

I can "AE" wolves and bears when they're up if a caster isn't AEing out from under me. I just run along, agro all I can, and then pop them all in a line (makes looting easier than the piles that AEers make.) Last I checked, Brellium was like 60 plat a brick. Hmm.. lava rocks. I wonder if I can solo fire giants yet. Would prolly need to get a tank and a healer friend for that.Comment

The fastest method is to gather up 500,000 plat or so, buy rubies, sapphires and emeralds, then buy some more emeralds and pay to have them imbued, click up 9 celestial essence per attempt, make mistletoe tempers, do a bunch of subcombines and make sickles.
