  • Seru Bane, Fungoid Sap?

I've been able to find everything but the Fungoid Sap that drops from Ancient Shriekers in the Deep. I've killed shriekers for a couple hours hoping that ancient shriekers are just a rare spawn at the entrance so that I don't have to drag me friends into this. Haven't had any luck, nor am I able to track ancient shreikers

Can anybody tell me where I can find the ancient shriekers?

I'm looking to make a seru bane weapon for my twink. Been realizing that EQ2 is going to be out before I can get his skill from 180 to 250 so I just wanna do this one thing to help justify my wasted efforts.

    Thanks.

Ancient shriekers are a common, regular spawn in the deep on the other side of the invis bridge. There's a couple camps of them. They are non aggro so you can walk right up to them and thru them, but I dont remember if they assist each other or not. I'm thinking that they dont its been a while since I've been there.

Fungoid sap is an uncommon drop from them. Not common, yet not rare.

Correct, the ancient shriekers are on other side of the bridge. and that is the only place you will find them. They will not assist each other when you engage. You can setup a camp right next to them and not worry about agroing extras. Not terribly common drop either.

dont count your chickens before they hatch

          Fungoid sap is RARE!!!!

If you say youll have some in no time you better hope you are lucky (and if you are trying to do more than one weapon expect to probably spend several days killing them (because undoubtable some tank will not have the required smithing and fail one)

To give you an idea, we camped it for 4.5 hours killing both camps of the shriekers and the 4 in the middle of the 2 camps with 2 groups. Roughly 30 or so shriekers per round of spawns. In that we got 6 sap. Drop rate is quite low. Just have to have to put in the time if you want to gear up your people with Seru bane weapons. Yay eq time sinks.

Uhmm.... people don't exp in this zone usually. Mobs are fairly magic resistant and the invis bridge is a pain in and of itself. People generally go over the bridge for 4 things. THO, BB, Shards or Fungoid Sap. Anybody who does exp here will generally stay at zone in or at the very most go to the deranged underbulk spawn.

I know, I just couldn't resist. It's not really worth explaining.

                      Seru Bane, Fungoid Sap?

                      Two points:

                      1) I got six, twice three dropped within 15 monsters, BUT overall the rate was about 3 per 50. I think the random number generator on Everything is Very non-random (it has runs). but there 'might' be a trigger for sap.

                      2) While I was updating the guild on drop rate I got a lot of replies in guildchat. When I went LD due to game router problems.... (yes the GM's offered a rez , but... Four hours after the fact), my guild didn't make a sound for 10 minutes. I was the only camper for them; I personally will Not be using them.
So...... 2 fungoid sap available on Xev send me a tell.

I have seen 1 quicksilver temper for sale in the bazaar: 15kpp.

It is a significant crawl to the chasm past mobs (some see through invisibility) and then to get across the invisible bridge. No one will go there by accident, and no one will go there unless there is a good reason to do so. Mobs in this zone hit harder than mobs in maidens eye for about the same exp (maybe less). Since the beastlord epic item drops close to the echo caves zoneline, most folks never go past the zoneline. Shallinar is very correct in this.

Anyone know if the Sap is the same that you can get in Ykesha? Someone in my guild told me that they found Fungoid sap on some Ykesha mobs.
